The wonderfully named Heerenveen Director of Football Hans Vonk has confirmed what we've been reporting and that Cardiff's deal for Magnus Wolff Eikrem is all but done.

We reported yesterday it was just a matter of paperwork and Vonk has admitted the Eredivisie club are just waiting on the return email from the Bluebirds to complete Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first transfer.

Vonk wouldn't speculate on the fee, although it's believed to be around the £2m mark.

"The conditions are found to be mutually agreed and the player has been medically examined,"

Vonk insisted there has been no bid for top scorer Alfred Finnbogason who has been previously linked with Cardiff although suggested it was a matter of time before a Premier League club comes calling and that they would consider a big money offer.

I can't see us getting Finnbogason. Hopefully proved wrong but if we get Diouf (which looks likely) I'll be more than happy.

If we get Finbogason, I will give all my Steelbooks to charity!
