Hudson set for an exciting time in the Bluebirds camp
We've got another half of the season to go and we’re all going to be working as hard as we can to get the club in the right position."
Mark Hudson
Club Captain Mark Hudson returned to the Cardiff City side for last Saturday’s victorious FA Cup 3rd Round tie at St. James’ Park.
It was the first time that a Cardiff City side had won at Newcastle United for 51 years – the last success on Tyneside coming in a 4-0 victory back in 1963.
Speaking earlier this week in reference to the Cup victory and the bright future he predicts for the Premier League Bluebirds, Huds said: “Obviously it wasgood to be involved in the game and getting a full ninety minutes under my belt.
“With the win it worked out perfectly really for the manager, myself and for the team. We're through to the next round and coming from 1-0 down as well, it shows a lot of character.
“It's been a while since I've played competitive football so it was great to be involved from the start and the win gives you confidence to crack on.”
Victory in the North East has paved the way for a fourth round tie at Bolton Wanderers later in January, the first time the Bluebirds have reached that stage of the competition since 2010.
And the Skipper feels that such successes on the field – married with a focus off it – will lead to further joy for the Bluebirds in 2014.
“We've only had Friday and Monday mornings with the manager so we've not been through much training just yet,” said Huds. “This is an exciting time as is always the case and something you've got to look forward to. It's going to be an interesting next few weeks and we're looking forward to it.
“We've got another half of the season to go and we’re all going to be working as hard as we can to get the club in the right position.”
And as for his personal outlook on the coming months and weeks, Huds added: "Every professional wants to play and I'm no different. I'm really hungry at the moment to be playing football and like I said it was great to play the full match the other day and I came through fine.
"I'm looking forward to being involved in as many games as I can towards the end of the season and help the team move up the league and finish as high as we can to remain in the Premier League.”

Why isn't our brave heart, captain fantastic and leader of men playing? We need him to lead us into battle. He did the job fine last year and he wore the bluebird on his heart every game!
Legend is Hudson.

Have never understood how this guy is rated by so many on here. He is at best a reasonable Championship Centre half.
Reads the game pretty well but doesn't just lack pace, he has NO pace, he also has the touch of a baby elephant, and if you look out into the Bristol channel tomorrow, you'll see tankers turn quicker
Just imagine what Aguero will do to him. It would be Embarassing!

Handled Suarez alright in the cup final.

How is he a Championship centre half? He did great in the cup final vs Liverpool and he bailed us out so much last season as did Marshall. Turner is shite and a park football player yet you'd have him in the team over Hudson, our true captain. Theres just no loyalty in the game anymore. He's class and a true bluebird legend and he always throws himself in front of shots and does the important work. He'd cope in the Premier League easy.
Absolutely disgusting how Malky treated Hudson.
Hopefully OGS sees how good Hudson is and picks him.

He did do well for us last season,( because he's a reasonable championship player) certainly his best season at City.
But I think Malky Knew his limits and thought he would be out of his depth at this level. It will be interesting to see what OGS does with him.I would love to see him come through for us,as it would give us depth in the squad, but can't see it happening.

He deserves a shot just for that 50 harder he scored against derby

Malky didn't know crap at this level. Proof of that was Noone being on the bench for so long.

Player of the year last year to nothing. Deserved a chance.

Got injured and let himself down in Pre Season.
Turner was doing well in Pre Season and looked promising.
He adapted to the Prem really easy and was consistent in most games up until December where he is prone to an error or two.
If Hudson has done enough v Newcastle to be within shout then good luck to him and hope he proves.

he may not be the quickest, reading the game is what is important.if neither hudson or turner fit the bill scott dann is your man
