Everyone has a View on Cornelius but where do you stand?
Mon Jan 06, 2014 8:47 pm
He has potential and is still young
But at 8mil is a huge gamble think he's a bottom end prem player in future

My stance is why the feck do we need a poll on him

only time will tell, too early to decide but at the moment from what I've seen of him he doesn't look sharp but will learn quickly hopefully

I believe that eventually he will come good, not great, but good. I'm sure the new coaching staff will see to that.

I think he will come good eventually. He needs to start games, not come on for 10 minutes. But I do think it was wrong to buy him last summer. He had only 1 seasons of full football under his belt. I know he did well but still very raw at the time so I don't know how that warranted 8m being spent.
There is obviously a big weight on his shoulders in the form of his price tag which will weigh him down. Hopefully with a new manager he will get more starts so we can judge him properly.

I think your right and the poll supports what your saying.

I hope he shuts up all the critics. I think he will do well under ole, people forget he was injured at the start of the season. how can you call him utter white ?? He hasn't really had much of a chance since his injury.

Spot on.

He just needs games. He's only young, and people are jumping down his throat because he messed up a one on one with the Sunderland keeper a couple of weeks ago. Like I keep saying, nobody coming on as a lone striker will change a game with ten minutes remaining, when your team aren't even playing the ball to you.
He needs game time and some encouragement. Plus, the right tactics.

he may become the best player in the world...sadly we dont have the time to wait for this to happen..
Mon Jan 06, 2014 10:16 pm
Impossible to tell when he's only started ONE game
Tue Jan 07, 2014 12:12 am
yes it is impossible to tell................but as a fan.....this guy was our first signing for the prem, smashed the club record fee paid.....every fan in the world would be expecting..wouldnt they?
i think the poll should be...should we have bought him for a club record fee..the answer has to be no

I don't really know. Interested to see what OGS does with him.

Could you add for £8m - Cornelius or Rhodes
Tue Jan 07, 2014 2:12 am
One third reckon he's not up to it.
Two thirds reckon he'll come good and is up to it.
I hope the two thirds prove me and the rest of the one third wrong. I'd love Cornelius to come good but being a realist just can't see it as I don't rate the lad at all. He reminds me of one of those lads you ask to play for your park football team just because he's big and can barge people about a bit.

I can't believe how much of a hard time this kid gets! He didn't asked to be signed for 8Million, He didn't want to get injurys! I'm no genius but im pretty sure he DOES want to do well. He's had hardly any competitive match minutes under his belt, you can't judge a player when he has rarely played. If/When he gets game time, hopefully grabs a couple of goals I'm sure his confidence will be boosted and it will settle him so he can actually enjoy his footie!

Fair point... But age, price tag, expectations are all meaningless when you're injured! I could do a better job than him when he's injured. Fair enough if he was playing since August and was dog shite, he hasn't been on the field long enough to receive the criticism he gets!

i think the concern is........if he isnt up to it....we are stuck with a total loss, with PO or Brayford, even if they dont come off as hoped,we can most likely off load them but if this kid doesnt, its 20 mil down the tube and stuck with it for 5 years..the fact he hasnt had much game time in the 10 games he has been named in the squad,is a concern in itself

If anyone can make a decent striker of him, it's OGS...
Wed Jan 08, 2014 7:48 am
....coming back from two bad injuries into a higher league than hes ever played
Wed Jan 08, 2014 10:03 am
think he's going to be ok but it will take time.think we paid to much though
Wed Jan 08, 2014 10:17 am
We need to give him more games & at least more time. he's defo over priced though
Wed Jan 08, 2014 10:25 am
Playing wingers (Noone, Daehli and Zaha) and a playmaker (Eikrem) will make all the difference for him

How do you know that?

we would all love to see him have a run of games so we can judge..........on the other hand,if the guy picking the side no matter if its MMor OGS, doesnt think he is good enough to start........i dont want him starting..catch 22
