Could be next.
Monday 6th Jan 2013.
Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could boost the Norwegian contingency in his playing squad by moving for Magnus Lekven in the next few days and add another familiar face to Manchester United fans.
Solskjaer is signing young midfielders Mats Moller Dahli and Magnus Wolff Eikrem, who both figured at United’s academy, but the more defensive-minded Lekven is also in his thoughts.
Lekven is 25 and has been playing in Denmark for Esbjerg who finished fourth in the league and reached the Danish Cup final where Lekven was awarded the game’s ‘Cup Fighter’ award.
He has four international caps and could help share the burden felt by Gary Medel in Cardiff’s midfield.
Bluebirds swoop: Magnus Levken could be the next Norwegian to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in Cardiff.
Wicked Whisper
Which Premier League striker was rumbled as he tried to sneak out of the team hotel for a trip to a local ‘dancing bar’ when he bumped into two of the club’s coaches who were leaving the said venue as he walked up to the door. Bribes were exchanged to ensure the manager didn’t get to hear.
The signings of Dahli and Eikrem are no real surprise considering Solskjaer’s role in their initial development at Old Trafford and he will draw from that experience also by looking at Hannover’s Mame Biram Diouf.
Diouf was in the reserve side that Solskjaer coached at United and his improvement helped secure his move to the Bundesliga.
He has since become a target for Stoke City who have been trying since the summer to tie up a deal for around £3.5million despite the Germans’ albeit unrealistic £10m valuation.
However, Diouf is out of contract in the summer and could be allowed to leave now for £2.5m.
Recruitment drive: New manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants some fresh faces in at Cardiff
Solskjaer will rival Stoke and their cause has been helped after Senegal forward Diouf missed training at the weekend.
New Hannover coach Tayfun Korkut said: ‘I need to be able to plan with one good attacker. A transfer in the winter is no issue for me.’
Cardiff are also favourites to sign Wilfried Zaha on loan from United. Six clubs have made enquiries to take the England Under 21 forward, with Crystal Palace, Newcastle, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke among them.

No way. He is a good player, but i dont believe this rumour. Ole didnt even bring him to Molde when he could (contract expired at his old club Odd Grenland).

Can't see this happening, there are enough players that can play his position

I doubt OGS will be signing up 4 norwegians. 2 might be enough at this stage. But the goalkeeper is quite good. Was excellent during last summers u-21 euro... One of the best in the competition.

Levkens agent has made a statement
"I haven’t heard anything about this, so I don’t really believe that it is true. I would imagine that I would have known something by know if the story was true."
Says its all

OGS will tumble and fall if he brings in too many Norwegians. Should really stop with the two that are in Cardiff now (when/if they sign). Then go continental for CD and F. Nyland... ppfffftt!!! Not even close to David Marshall...

Magnus... no way in hell (I hope).. Bet all the Norwegians Solskjær looked at when managing Molde will be "targets" now.. The press... what a joke..

That would not be cool. First of all, Lekven is no better than the players already at Cardiff. Secondly, bringing in a shitload of norwegians merely looks stupid initially.

Sounds like a complete and utter fabrication. Just like the Nyland rumour. (The goalkeeper)
Solskjær isn't signing Norwegians just to sign Norwegians, he wants to improve the team and Lekven is not an improvement. If he wants a more defending type midfielder who's also Norwegian, he can afford the 8 million pounds that Håvard Nordtveit or the 5 million Markus Henriksen would cost, both of which are better players.
Not that he should only look at Norwegian players, but if he were, these two names would be the first ones we hear and not Lekven.
That is, unless he wants a strictly backup status player, as Nordtveit and Henriksen might not find that particularly interesting but Lekven might.

Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet just reported neither Dæhli nor Lekven will be joining the national team to Abu Dhabi for their training camp later this month. We all know why Dæhli won’t join, but no explanation was given for Lekven.
I seriously hope this does not mean he is one of the reported players hiding out at Vale. If so, Ole might as well bring the whole Abu Dhabi team over, and go for a bulk purchase discount. AND change CCFC’s colours to red, white and blue in the process.
It’ll be embarrassing as hell if he signs another Norwegian now

All this could be next shit is annoying me we haven't even signed anyone yet!

Lekven: – Neither I nor my agent (Stig Lillejord) have heard anything from Cardiff, hence this is most likely mere speculation.
