Been following this forum for about 18 months now and love the range of topics especially the tales from the 80s and the casual scene. I live just outside Cheltenham on the m5/m50 junction, born in Gateshead I've been down south for 44+ years now? uSed to follow the Toon regularly in the 80s and 90s and as used to get the train from Cheltenham always bumped into Cardiff travelling north to places like Darlo and Scunny - I've never seen so many on a family railcard! Even got diverted from one Nufc game and ended up,going to Crewe with Cardiff in late 80s - I can remember the one legged fella on the pitch. Think a few cardiff reciprocated as remember a small number of I think, Caerphilly lads coming to some NUFC matches. Another reason for the soft spot for Cardiff is my dad's best mate (god bless them both) was from Porth and had trials in the 50s. Remember going to NInian Park in 1978 with them, me and me dad must have been the only Nufc fans there - lost 2-1. Best wishes for rest of the season and keep up the banter with the Jacks, from a neutral observation I never come across any Jacks on my travels in the 80s/90s.

Oh when I first read this I thought you were a fellow Bluebird and copied off a NUFC forum.

Best of luck to Newcastle to get a Europa League place for you (actually that competition doesn't benefit you at all judging by last season :laughing6: ), your club is a lot like ours most of the followers are local, the fans are loud and like to get their opinions across.
