WHO GETS REPLACED?

Sun Jan 05, 2014 9:04 pm

With the arrival of the two new Scandinavians, who's place do they take?

Has Whitts had his day?

Who else?

I think we might line up like this, if Ole thinks Dæhli will be a regular starter, if not, then replace Dæhli with a new winger :ayatollah:

-------Medel----Mutch
Noone-----Eikrem-----Dæhli
----------Campbell------------

Attacking football he gotta play 2 up front and I firmly believe Cornelius will get 10 goals by the end of the season with quality wide men putting the ball in the box for him!

Probably see this midfield:

-------Medel------Whittingham------
Noone--------Mutch-------Eikrem----

Daehli most likely on the bench.

With quality forward thinking player behind him, and with the ball mostly played into feet, which is OGS' philosophy, he'll do OK on is own up front with Noone, Eikrem and Dæhli joining in attacks IMO.

I also do think that Cornelius will come good mind.

I don't think Dæhli will slide right into the first 11. OGS might make him more of a squad player while he is still developing. At the very least, a rotation player.

Not true. You can be attacking with one up front so long he has good enough support behind him.

Exactly, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Dortmund etc. use this formation and don't play defensively, it's about the way they play it.

This is where I think we will be.

Whitts will be told to go back to the old Whitts, look up field a get his passes of quicker and will be allowed to roam a bit as Gary is there. Give Whitts multiple targets and he will start delivery killer balls again......

Malky ruined Whittingham and he needs confidence. People can slag Whitts off but the way Malky has used him made him a different player. Being made to get stuck in etc, it's not his style.

Whitts won't be a regular starter. Eikrem will take his place in that formation alongside Medel. The left winger will be Bellamy. OGS has already suggested this and I suspect that when Bellamy isn't fit then it will be Daehli and only then Whitts if Daehli isn't yet ready for the Premiership

Thats the way I see him playing with the players available at the moment

I agree with some of the posts here. I don't see Dæhli becoming a regular starter for Cardiff right away, though he probably will eventually. He wasn't even a regular starter for Molde. They did have a very strong midfield, but obviously not quite as strong as Cardiff's. He got 12 games this year and only four full games. I also doubt Ole will put Eikrem on the wing, at least unless he's just experimenting or if it's a late game situation with limited options. He can play just about anywhere on the midfield, but central should feel more natural for him.

Hope Newcastle was Whittingham's last game ever for the club. He was piss poor yet again.

Would like to see midfield:

Medel
Eikrem
Kim
Mutch
Daeli/Noone (rotated/subs)

Yummy!

It would be a waste playing Eikram in a DM role, get him at CAM where he belongs!
