Needs match time
Sky Sports understands that Nicky Maynard is set to be allowed to leave Cardiff City on loan.
Maynard has been limited to just ten league appearances for the South Wales outfit since joining them in 2012, mainly due to injuries.
New Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now ready to allow the 27-year-old to leave on loan, and a host of clubs are keen on landing him.
Wigan, QPR and Nottingham Forest are amongst the clubs showing a strong interest, whilst Premier League Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation.

Good luck to him, if he does go.
He has been unlucky with us, but given time will do a wonderful job for any championship side.

Maybe a striker is coming in if he's allowed out....

Thanks for the cash !

Probably for the best as he doesn't look the fittest at the moment.
It's a bit of a shame as I was really excited when we got him on deadline day last season.
I think given the right circumstances (fitness and confidence) he'd be and affective back up for Campbell.

Looked very good in his few games last season. Very unlucky with that injury, I reckon he would have got 15 goals last year as well
Sun Jan 05, 2014 8:23 pm
Carrying a bit of timber mind too ain't he....
Sun Jan 05, 2014 8:28 pm
Shame good player but can't see him getting a chance with us. Would be a big signing for anyone in the championship

It was over before it really began...
That injury put his major chance to bed...
All the best of luck to him in the future though..

Thank f**k we signed Campbell to replace him, class above Maynard! Maynard has had no motiviation to get back into match fitness and has been carrying a bit of weight, whether that's down to himself or Malky, he's not really influential. I'd like to see him sold at the end of the season if we stay up and more of Mason

Get him out on loan and if he has more left on his contact then give him a crack for next season if we tay up if we don't we may well need himĀ”

There were a few street interviews from Cardiff on a Norwegian news site and they happened to run into Maynard's father who said he was hoping Ole would get his son some playing time. Seems like a pretty good player though I've never heard of him until recently. A loan must be the right move now that he obviously wants playing time.

Hah yeah I saw that, the reporter thought it was just some regular bloke then he explained he was Maynard's father (who doesn't look a day over 25, mind) and that led to more or less the most interesting football related shotgun interview I've seen in a while.
Hopefully he'll stay on after the loan.

I felt the same about him, good luck to him, probably still cut it in Championship.

Wigan have had a loan move for Nicky accepted.
He will move to a strong Championship side and lets hope re-prove his talent. Hopefully he will stay fit and we can recoup what we paid for him.

Hello,
I'm a Wigan fan. Few rumours around linking us with Maynard on loan, he's a player I've always really liked, he rejected a move to us last January. Warren Houghton from Talksport thinks we've had a loan bid accepted. Any of you guys heard anything?
Cheers, good luck for the season.

Not heard nothing but he'll have to get on the running machines sharpish. No where near match fit - carrying some unwanted pounds.

Personally it will do him well to go on Loan, hopefully it will see us bring a striker in.
