'That' E-Mail

Sun Jan 05, 2014 5:30 pm

This may have been mentioned previously but hoping someone may be able to confirm if this is true.

A lot has been made about the sacking of Malky and Moody and also the contents of the Email sent from Tan.

However i have been told from an insider that apart from results, overspending and performances the email also contained details of the Cornelius transfer. Im also told that with this transfer Malky and Moody both took a fair slice from this deal in the hundreds of thousands (Harry Redknap style)

This would explain where some of the unrest between all those involved and was hoping someone could confirm. Apologies if already covered and to confirm i am nor Pro Tan.

Interesting though

doesnt make any sense................if there was anything underhand, Tan would surely have just sacked both, and leaked why......or are you suggesting an inflated price tag, which it looks now..and numerous people taking a slice?
have to say.......this deal made no sense to me..still dont.....what newly promoted side signs this sort of player,{ however good or bad he might be ion 2 years,} as the record breaking first prem signing?

Premier League changes a man, Malky changed dramatically and was more self self self and less about the players.

And that is an idiots reply. Something happened away from the football but Malky bought us more success than we dreamed possible so wise up

That's not strictly true.

I thought Tan wanted Malky to move that bus he left in front of our goal, he could not understand why we only used a third of the pitch.

I also heard similar to this, not only the one player you mention, but others too. Who knows???

Its happened plenty of times before.

I dont believe in the bung theory otherwise the premier league would be all over it.

Interesting, but in Peter Ridsdale's book "United We Fall", there is a lot of info on how agents, particularly foreign ones, operate.

Interesting that no one has mentioned the word "Bung" before.

Dalglish made a fortune out of the Carroll, Henderson and Downing transfers.

i had heard rumblings regarding this, but it does seem a fairly common practice in the premier league.

is there any link between this and an article in the mirror?

all absolute bollocks. How can a manager 'take' money from a deal without a billionaire businessman, who either signs, or has his his lackeys sign cheques, knowing about it......

Its down as agent fees and the agent gives the manager a bag of cash. Not too difficult

i imagine that if a club buys a player then the money goes via an agent to the other club and the agent takes some and maybe splits his cut? i dunno!

i'm no tan lover, i just don't think we'll ever know the full story or who was leaking things to the press annis. that's football for you! there's two sides to every story - we've all heard at least 10 different versions of events, probably none of them are true.

I dont believe Malky took a bung, but its not hard to cover up if your working with an agent. Agent gives you cash and he adds it on to his fees in the contract.

Same way george Graham did! I don't think malky has at all, but it's very possible doesn't matter who signs the cheque

Craig, why are some of u, including yourself trying to throw dirt on our greatest ever manager?
Rem Tan stripped our club of our identity and has lied non stop and is not a man of his word.
Rem Tan said we would keep our identity and 5 days later stripped us, a fact not gossip.

Now please give Malky some credit for his great achievements at our club

What does Tan's actions have to do with Malky?

You're making a mistake if you're trying to use Malky as a way to get at Tan.

Re: 'That' E-Mail

Come on lads. Lets not do this. I was one of Malky's biggest critics but we shouldn't be dragging this through the mud. We're football fans not investigators. Lets enjoy the football and lets get behind the new gaffer and the team. Malky was a great servant to this football club and as it stands is our greatest ever manager. He took us to a cup final and got us promoted and put in the foundations for us to actually survive here. Solskjaer has inherited the team now to try and progress it to the next level but Solskjaer wouldn't have a job to do here if it wasn't for what Malky did in the first place. Lets not forget that.

Im glad Malky's gone in terms of progression because the club comes first. Thats only my opinion. Others may think differently and they're entitled to that opinion. We're all football managers in our mind anyway and we'll all make judgements. Some good ones. Some bad ones. I will however always respect Malky for what he did during his time at this club. I do think there was a darker edge to his persona but you have to admit that to work under Tan you probably need one. That doesn't really matter now though as whats done is done.

Lets support Ole and the players! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

i loved malky - but it was time to move on - whatever went on behind the scenes affected us all, not to mention how it must have affected the players.

i'm looking forward to the solkjaer era but in the same note i hope malky gets another prem job soon - he deserves it.

Annis, all i know is that after our promotion gaining game v Charlton on April 16th last year, VT said live on tv, during all the celebrations, how much he respected Malky, & how Malky respected him. Fast forward four months later, & the respect & faith appears to have gone. The question is why? What happened for such a big change in attitudes??

If it was something outside of football, then fair enough, But Moody went first. I'm certainly no lover of Tan, & i respect the achievements of Malky while manager at Cardiff City FC, but certain thing simply don't add up. There are two sides to every story.

I think you need to read my post. I clearly state "I DONT THINK MALKY TOOK A BUNG"

what has this issue got to do with Tan and the rebrand?

Tan changed his mind because of us, the fans begging him to so you cant claim he was lying. He went with popular opinion at that time. Please give Credit to Tan for ploughing the cash in to allow Malky to help get us promoted.

I have given Malky credit for getting us promoted. Never have I said otherwise. I do feel however that he is out if his depth in the premier league, tactically naiive and terrible when given a large amount of money. He wants to be an old school manager like Fergie, the game has changed now.
