Embarrassing............players celebrating wildly at beating St.Mirren :? 4-0.

No competition at all in their league, total embarrassment to football.

Scottish football is on its arse. Only money they get comes through the turnstiles or by selling their best players. Hasn't been the same since Sky dropped them. Even teams like Celtic can't compete for players with the EPL any more.

Div 2 and confrence teams there playing weekly if you compare it to everyone budgets and gates for other teams in that league and the standard is div2 at best for most of them to be fair.

Feel I'm qualified to comment here seeing I'm on the bus back from Dundee united after watching the hibs. Essentially yes the SPFL is a 1 team leauge owing to the huge financial gulf between Celtic and the rest. The quality of football isn't great but the teams up here are all going bust. Although Hibs have a large debt the money borrowed was used to renovate the stadium and build a quality training facility. This means that the club can only spend what it gets from supporters through the turnstile or quite simply you end up like hearts/rangers/Dunfermline etc. there are some good players here and the scots passion for the game and the history of Scottish football Cannot be questioned.

Agree.
I must admit I have a massive amount of respect for the Scots since I moved up here. Also have a greater understanding of the Scottish game. It is steeped in history and has produced some of the greatest players and managers. One of each in particular.

Far greater than any welsh manager or player off the top of my head.

It's easy to slate the standard of the league but ask yourselves this Cardiff fans, How would we be or view ourselves if we applied our trade in the a Welsh league?

The fans of the lesser clubs in Scotland are the core of the game and the famed tartan army.

I would much prefer to share a drink with a Hibs or Dundee fan than a Celtic or Rangers one.

We are Cardiff Fans, believe it or not we have quite a lot of support up here.

When the next English club goes bust they should offer Celtic the opportunity to take their place. That would instantly make the SPL more competitive whilst giving them an opportunity to prove themselves against better teams.

The amount of bitterness shown towards Scottish football in this thread is embarrassing, I can't honestly believe any Welshman could criticise the SPL considering how terrible the Welsh league is.

Fun fact, the percentage of the Scottish population attending SPL games is one of the largest in Europe.
