Can we please respect Malky?

Sat Jan 04, 2014 11:14 pm

I admit I wasn't his biggest fan as a manager as I thought his transfer dealings were mediocre and that he was out of his depth with no plan b however.

Can we please respect him for all that he did achieve for us? No snidey posts about Ole and attacking football/shots etc. He did take us up and deserves our respect and gratitude.

Can we please stop talking about him? He's gone, and he won't go hungry. Stop crying and move on.

I respect he took us up. He came in when we needed him him and did his bit.
Not sure why but always felt he was overally media trained. I always felt he was a little sly.

The media training will likely have come from Moody, fella, as he worked in that area for a while ;) :ayatollah:

Off the pitch he was the best manager the club has probably ever had developing a variety of areas. On the pitch it was god awful even at times when it really didn't have to be.

One win and everyone brings out the digs at the man who got us to where we want to be. People forget that sometimes

That's football.

People think forwards not backwards.

I think have only won once away from home this season and the lowest away aways scorers in the league so today was more than a result but a signal of intentions I hope.

We should respect all of our former managers, they all tried to do their best for the club. Football management is a plethora of judgements and some make far too many decisions that turn out to be poor.

Let's remember the good things about our managers (Malky, David Jones ....... Jimmy Scoular and all) - reaching playoffs, promotions, cup final appearances, the times when goals and points were plentiful, the good players they signed and developed. Then put the failings to the back of our minds and fully support the current manager and team.

Its not like Malky died. If people want to knock him then so be it.

His 4m pay off says he wont be too bothered, he played you all for fools with his media games anyway.

We have respected Malky. Liverpool away, Southampton and Sunderland at home all showed that. It's now time to move on.

Most people, in most occupations, try to do their best for their employers; to progress and make more money. :P

I didn't say people weren't entitled to an opinion. I merely asked if we could lay off the slating. Polo I agree with you and you Craig we are better without him but I for one am glad we got Malky when we did. After DJ we needed a manager who would re engage with the fans.

He won't get anywhere near 4 million pounds.

correct..........he was shown enormous respect and support throughout..and especially the last few weeks.
he is no longer part of our club.....part of its history yes.
should he become manager of a top half team,or championship side,we should wish him all the best.
a bottom half club though?????????????
