What would be good signings for Cardiff

Fri Jan 03, 2014 2:38 pm

What type of player do you thing Cardiff need to invest in to make the squad stronger? If anyone knows of any rumours or of some players who would be good to sign put your though hear.

I think we need a creative attacking midfielder. Someone of a similar play style to the likes of David Silva, or Mata or Ozil. Not saying them players but someone who is similar player. Kim and Mutch are good players! But there needs to be more creativity. Maybe they will develop under the new manager Olly Solskjaer.

I think we need another class centre midfielder to slot in alongside Medel and Mutch, a winger and a centre back. My choices would be:

Markus Henriksen - one of the best young box to box midfielders in the world who as an AZ player, will be within our reach, he would be perfect to slot in alongside Medel and Mutch.

Will Hughes - the best midfielder in the Championship with the potential to be something special, has a determined hunger and work rate about his game, closing opponents down, running himself into the ground but he's pure quality on the ball too. He's pretty much carried Derby to second in the table.

Kevin De Bruyne - not getting games for Chelsea so why not try taking him on loan for the rest of the season?

Jefferson Montero - watch him play and he simply glides past players with ease, we need a winger of his pace and skill to draw defenders and open things up.

Kurt Zouma - the best young centre back we can attract, only 18 but he's pacey, strong, powerful, comfortable on the ball and plays with a maturity beyond his years. I think St Etienne would sell him if we gave them a serious offer and he would be just what we need to partner Caulker, break the bank to sign him please!

If Ole is given 25 million to spend, then I would happily spend 10 million of it on Zouma Paul! I think he's that good from the little I have seen of him and he will only get better. With Montero allegedly being 4 million, that would still leave us 9 million to get in a good centre midfielder. Saying that, we only spent just over 31 million last summer but it seems Tan has added on the wages and potential add ons to come up with 50 million, so who knows how much Ole really has to spend!

Unfortunately, I didn't end up putting money on OGS. I would have if we lost against Stoke, but we drew and then when I next checked the odds after we lost to Palace, Ole was 8/1 which I thought was too short to risk putting anything on. Then it seemed OGS was going to West Brom, then there was Liverpool away and it seemed Malky would be here a while longer. I suppose I should have put a tenner on him at 8/1, but I was such a fan of Malky and I was really hoping he wouldn't be sacked. As soon as Malky went, Ole was backed in to odds on and there was no point putting a bet on him then.

James Forrest- a young pacey winger who I think would fit great into our team.

Jonny heitinga- strong centre back and proven in the premier league. Caulker and him be a great partnership.

Danny ings- scores when given the oppertunity to do so he also young so he has time on his side.

Nikola jelovic- another player proven he can score goals when given the oppertunity and has premier league experience. I think I new club would get his confidence back.

James McCarther- centre midfielder, young, premier league league experience and plays very good football in the heart of the midfield.

They are 4 players I'd like to see at Cardiff :ayatollah:

Wasn't Zouma banned for 10 games for breaking someones leg?

Edit - I found the link now I thought he'd got banned - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... games.html

Jefferson Montero has gone off the boil if you look at his stats - after 4 matches he had 5 goals and 2 assists, while after 21 matches (including cup and international friendlies) he is on 6 goals and 3 assists, so only 1 goal and 1 assist in the last 17 matches. However, the youtube clips still show plenty of good attacking runs from him, so maybe there won't be as much competition and we can get him at a better price.
