Striker finalises transfer to Ewood Park after loan spell
We can confirm that Rudy Gestede has today completed a permanent transfer to Blackburn Rovers.
Rudy, who signed for the Bluebirds during the summer of 2011, initially joined Rovers on an emergency loan deal back in November.
We'd like to thank Rudy for his contribution and wish him all the very best for the future.

considering he joined us as a trialist he did ok for the City.
I know he wasn't the best but he gave it everything and didn't rip us off - ever - always had a soft spot for him, even though we'd have a chuckle when he was coming on.
2 goals versus Forest were one of my top memories, as well as a great goal against Millwall.
good luck Rudy

Always tried his heart out and he improved significantly under Malky. I hope he does really well at Blackburn, I am certain scoring that goal yesterday will have boosted his confidence.

How much did we get for him??

Good luck Rudy and thanks for your efforts. Seems like a strange decision that has been made as the ink on the new manager's contract is not even dry. Would have thought he would have wanted to get a look at the whole squad.

Would be nice if they told us how much they bought him for

Blackburn have moved quickly in the January transfer window to snap up Cardiff striker Rudy Gestede and Hull midfielder Tom Cairney on permanent deals.
The Premier League pair were on loan at Ewood Park, with Cairney due back at Hull following Wednesday's win over Leeds, but Rovers have moved to secure their long-term futures with three-and-a-half-year contracts.
Cairney, 22, has impressed Gary Bowyer since arriving at the start of the season while Gestede, who joined the Lancashire club in November on loan, got his first goal during their 2-1 win at Leeds on New Year's Day.
The former Hull player set up both goals in the impressive victory and Bowyer admitted after the game he had been eager to tie down Cairney to a permanent contract.

Also remember our opening game of the 2011/12 season against West Ham when late in the game Gestade robbed the West Ham defender and sent over a pull back pass for Kenny Miller to score the winner in the 91st minute.

An unknown trialist from France had no right to line up against Liverpool in the carling cup,but fair play to the lad he lived his dream
Always gave it is all and will be fondly remembered ,
two goals that virtually secured promotion against forest, and can say he played in the premier league
good luck rudy

I wish him well.
Irrespective of his limitations he did a sterling job for CCFC and deserved better support.

Well considering he was on loan there and just didn't see his chances of getting into the team. Blackburn fans said when he signed that it was a view to sign permanent so that's why.
Best of luck to Rudy!
I always thought he was a decent striker for Championship. Considered the budget we was on when he first came here then it was worth a shot. Made impacts when he came on, more of a super sub than a starter.
Scored some vital goals and a really nice bloke. Spoke highly of Cardiff and we offered him a great opportunity. Seems like it was a dream move when he came to Wales/England.
