Or inability to attract big name players?
Does he think (or be advised) that Someone like Ole Gunnar Solskjear will attract bigger named players?

More fearful of his wasting millions

Could be. Tan sees football as a business and marketing it would need big names. Malky (although well liked and respected) is not a "big" name, unlike OSG we are led to believe.

Malcolm is a bigger name, so perhaps he should call himself that instead of Malky? :malky:

I think its safe to say Malky did not use the summer budget as well as he could have and Tan no doubt thought that was a risk going into January.

Personally I think Malky was taking us down anyway. Ultimately we have to get wins on the board to stay up and Malkys set up to not lose rather than to win the games wouldnt have amassed us enough points IMO.

Its a roll of the dice whichever way you look at it but where Malky struggled was our attacking play and hopefully that is what Solksjaer can bring to the table.

No doubt he was concerned with how he spent the money.

Most likely also fed up of watching the way we play. If I invested 150m into a team and had to fly several hours to watch them I'd also be annoyed.

Tan wasn't fearful, but pissed off Malky had spent the biggest part of the budget on development team players! How would you feel?
