OGS not the right man!

Thu Jan 02, 2014 6:35 am

I honestly think this is a bad move by the club (dictator Tan) and we will go down with him as manager. He has no manegerial experience in the premier league and thats what u need at this stage of the season, especially in our position!

What experience did Malky have in the Premier league ?

Re: OGS not the right man!

But we as a club and fans we should at least give him a chance. Correct?

Malky's appointment did not inspire many at the time and was deemed a gamble, but it was ok while it lasted.

There is no guarantee that a manager with experience in the PL would have kept us up. We are where we are, and what will be will, be but i'm sure we have a better chance if the players, management and staff are supported fully. IMO

Everyone is a virgin in the premier league at some point in their career fergie believe it or not had once upon a time, never managed in the premier league. It counts for nothing, in terms of been there done it as a player and having a managerial mentor nobody can argue with OSG's appointment.

are you saying we would have been better off with Bryan Robson, Ron Atkinson or Peter Reid!

Pretty certain Alex Fergusson didn't have any prem league experience until he went to Man Utd.

Are you trying to compare Fergusons record at Aberdeen to OGS' record with Molde..?

Would the OP perhaps have preferred someone with lots of experience and a proven Premiership record?

Someone like Harry Redknapp for example?

Who couldn't prevent QPR from being relegated last season?

ever think that if these 'premier league expereinced' managers were so good and experienced, they wouldnt have been sacked and unemployed looking for jobs like the cardiff one? if they were that good they would be in the job now lol

maybe the lack of experience as you call it, may be an advantage

Big sam at west ham got loads of experience at this level and look at them.
I dont think it matters one bit that he hasnt managed at this level

Re: OGS not the right man!

Just a footnote really, but we are all aware that the Premier League did not exist when Ferguson was appointed Manchester United manager.

Don't recall mentioning Molde or Aberdeen, just stated a fact concerning Prem league experience. Think you will find that Ferguson didn't get any English premier experience while managing Aberdeen, as I'm pretty certain they never played in our Premiership.

The tan lovers here who were latching on to Malky for having no plan B. OGS is even worse!

Re: OGS not the right man!

Ultimately, this game was based on confidence, West Ham have a dominant record against us lately and Fat Sam would have drilled that into his team. No Caution, charge at whoever has the ball, force us to make mistakes. We were unfortunate today, but plenty of positives to take away.

You must have been watching a different game. Game I saw had OGS take off a defensive midfielder for an attacking playmaker, and a centre back for a centre forward. Looked like a plan B to me, just didn't work out ;)

Also made a half time sub and changed formation. Had enough chances to win that game. Most positive football we've played this season. Players just too nervous at times
