A forum for all things Cardiff City

These articles are rated FTPFS (far too positive for some) so it advised that people who just want to continually whinge and moan turn away now!
http://ahellofabeating.wordpress.com/20 ... solskjaer/http://www.theguardian.com/football/blo ... jaer-molde“My knowledge of Ole as a student of the game is quite clear; every game he played and every training session he took part in he always wrote it all down,” said Ferguson. “That tells you his dedication to learn the game and also his attention to meticulous detail. That gives him a great start because you need dedication and sacrifice to go into management these days. He was a great player and a very nice person. Players will respond to him.”
As for Ole’s job it is well worth praise. He has sold the top scorer, Mame Diouf’s elder brother, halfway into the season (he had 12 or more goals at the time and is still high on the list as we approach the end of the season). He has made a profit through transfers, yet is going for youngsters with potential and making sure he has a team that can deal with injuries without losing too much quality. He completely revamped a right back to a ball-confident (and quick) CD to match a slower but dominating CD who also has an eminant passing foot. The attack consists of speedy wings and one target man who always seeks the space between the backs and CD’s. He has not blown the budget despite being backed by a finance giant in Norway and goes for young talents that are mostly national.
So.. to sum it up: things are going far beyond our expectations as Molde is 100 years old with 7 silver and not a single league victory (but a few cup wins). EE (Exceeded Expectations

I remember when everyone was unsure when we hired Malky

I read a lot more stuff and what stood out on United forum was Solskjaer's professionalism as a manager and how he transferred the United model in transforming Molde from top to bottom. I'm relieved about this as I was worried that the next manager may undo all Malky's hard work at this club. Evidently Solskjaer will be looking to take it on to the next level.
Hopefully he can add a bit of creative spark to the solid foundations that Malky has built.

Apparently because he managed in a weak league then he shouldnt be considered for the Premier League

Perhaps Man U should never have appointed Fergie as he come from Scottish league

However, my favourite so far, because Wolves employed a Norwegian manager and he failed then that means OGS will also fail

Some of the things I've read are unbelievable mate. I'm more than happy cos we've avoided Ince and Sven!
Hoddle seemed to be the favourite on here and whilst I think he has great football knowledge, his man management was always questionable even when he was at Chelsea and England and of course you cannot ignore the Eileen Drewery factor!
Biesla and Guidolin were the outstanding candidates for me, only cos they have managed in serie a and la liga, but they probably weren't realistic targets anyway. Guidolin will probably go Juventus next year and Biesla could surely get a better gig than cardiff city.
The more I read about Solskjaer the more convinced that Tan and Dallas could unearthed a gem. I've read some United forums tonight and a large number of their posters genuinely wanted him to succeed Ferguson instead of Moyes, and let's be honest mate if he's good enough for United he's good enough for us. I believe that we could be his next step on his ladder to the top.

Lets hope so mate. Im liking what I have read so far.
Be interesting to see what moves he makes in the window.
A striker and some creativity a must.

Creativity is the key in my opinion mate. I feel like Campbell has the hardest job of all the strikers in the league.
I thought we were desperate for a left back but I've been more than happy with young declan in the last 2 games.
I'd love to see a get a David Silva type player (obviously not as good) who can open the door to defences. Some pace in our team would be nice too and maybe someone to step in for turner if we are hoping to play football. Having said that, I don't know turner is so poor with the ball at his feet. Martinez got players like monk and tate passing the ball so why can't turner. I think they should try coaching this into him daily.
I also hope we stop trying to fit square pegs in round holes. I don't think whitts gives us anything on the left these days, but he was arguably our best player against United and arsenal when he was in the middle.
Mutch shouldn't be playing as a number 10. He's one of the few players left in English football who can pick up the ball and drive with power like Gerrard does. Odemwingie out wide! Enough said.
I hope Solskjaer spends more time coaching the players instead of just drills as I've said for 2 and half seasons how it amazes me how big the gap is from the midfield to our forwards yet nothing has ever been done about it.
