New manager will Ditch the Deadwood hopefully

Wed Jan 01, 2014 7:07 pm

I do hope the new manager will hopefully get rid of the driftwood who have been playing most weeks as these are not prem players IMO.

Taylor
Turner
Gunner
Whitts
Cowie

Also a few others who have not been seen but wouldnt cut it weekly if we want to survive imo, hence why we aint seen these weekly i guess and they would lower the wage bill for the new guy to get his own in

Smith
Conway
Kiss
Rudy
Maynard
Mcnaughton
Connelly
Brayford
Bellers ( gets offer a coaching role i hope )

Thats 14 playing staff i would ditch if i was the new manager but i aint

agree with you there bluebird, these are at best' mediocre premiership players, if tan brings in at least 5 premiership players, we will finish 9th 10th, in our first season :ayatollah:

Taylor, turner, whitts and cowie won't be going anywhere until the summer I wouldn't have thought, the bottom half some will surely leave in the jan window...

Dunno about 9th or 10th this season tbh we be lucky to surive with 3-4 new players and with the current squad who will take a season to get rid of the players who are not prem standard :ayatollah:

Agree with all of the players you list here mate, except maybe Brayford. Wonder if he may get a chance under OGS?

We have so much dear wood not near the first team it's shocking.

Conway
Smith
Kiss
Rudy
Connally
Brayford
Maynard
Mcnaughton
Add in Etien.

Very easily over 100k a week just being wasted on nothing.

Maybe your rite but imo hes grasping for air running about these days nevermind the fresh air you mentioned, he couldnt skin a sack of spuds now let alone a full back or a center half, has the brain for it but past it for me physically :ayatollah:

Why anyone would want Whitts Turner and Taylor gone is beyond me. Each of them have something to offer and strength in depth is needed. People moan about the size of our squad then want to axe most of our players

What is it they offer in your opinion jack?

As for the axe well if we are to stay up and progress next season such players will have to go surely?

Whitts is an amazing technical player being played out of position. Turner has been solid enough this year, next season if we stay up he should be relegated to the bench. Taylor is a god left back, been solid at times and has experience. May not be the best either offensively or defensively but there are much worse LB's.

If we do stay up a few players will need to go yes, but none should go right now. Brig Conway back in though as we're lacking a left sided player

All sounds well and good but who do you think will want to join us at the moment and be up for a relegation battle?,Imo we will be extremely lucky to get three class players in Jan.

Whitts is slow and lethargic this season in way to many games i can not remeber the last time he took the ball off a pass and run ten meters. Turner offers a header of the ball thats about it imo the other times he hoofs instead of the simple pass as for taylor well ive seen better left backs at confrence level tbh and has never done anything but relegation battles in the prem before. All my opinion of course but these will have to go if we are to progress if we stay up that is :ayatollah:

Out of those 14 players, 12 of them form part of the 25 man squad that we have registered meaning if you get rid of them then we are left with 13 first team players (3 of which are goalies) plus the under 21 players. You need your first 11, 7 on the bench plus at least another 5 players to cover injuries....that makes 23 players. Lucky you are not the manager as you would need to sign 10 players in January that are better than the ones you have got rid of

Driftwood...........Deadwood........Most of these have given good service to City......got us to cup finals....play offs .........promoted by 8 points......bit harsh to call them that. Struggling at this level some of them may be ....but I thank them for the times they have played well and got us here. :ayatollah:

Laudable sentiment Denzil; lets all chip in for a leaving bash for 'em and give them our thanks. But we all want to avoid relegation and in which case a little reality must set in.

Gunnarsson is Icelands captain at 24. Loads of teama would want him. He's a beast!!. Whats he done to get transferred?.
