What is the current financial situation?

Mon Dec 30, 2013 5:32 pm

Genuine Question. I'm wondering what would happen if we get relegated and tan ends up pulling the plug. Are we fucked? Were the loans ever turned into equity?

Approx City are £130mill in debt, until Tan does what he stated he would do and turn the Debt to Equity.

Did he set out any criteria on when this will happen? I'm trying to make sense out of the precarious situation we're in given alot of fans want tan gone.

If he walked away without turning his loans to shares and the club could not find a new owner, we could end up in administration where other clubs who we owe money too and wages would get paid first.I assume a credit arranger would be charged with the assets of the club and arrangements made to sell our assets and pay off a proportion in the pound.possibly leaving us with no players no stadium and as much as 25 points deducted in the championship.
so either way its hard to just walk away for both us and tan.

The club own the ground not the council on a 100 year lease for the land but it.can't be used for anything else other that a sports stadium

we and us................where do we come into it?
and why would he walk away.........well walk away without asset stripping first..........
companies go into admin when insolvent and unable to pay bills........with tan owning the club, how does the club ever get to this point? people keep talking about debt to equity then we riot etc............id love to have this explained

As a typical business man Tan has probabley set a company up under another name.....which has lent us the money.....therefore if he walks away we owe them and he is not liable............remember langstone.

still dont get the we bit........im sure sam set up langstone to distance himself from the debt........WE.. at the time were the owners {not sam }..the owner now is tan..he cant take himself to court surely..not being awkward..its just i fail to see it. to be in admin you have to be insolvent.......for the life of me as long as tan is the owner i dont see how..........he could run the club down, asset strip.........and infact end up playing in lower leagues in red..nightmare scenario

At last !!!! IMO if he gets bored, he can cut his losses, sell the better players, cut the staff, and funnel the parachute payments and other finances to pay off a percentage of the debt. The debt will always be rolling even if we drop through the leagues....

We got him for a long time !!!!

We need dialogue with him....
