Former Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay 'not currently considering legal action' as he awaits £2m pay-off from Vincent Tan

Mackay has ruled nothing in or out when it comes to seeking a financial settlement from the Bluebirds owner

Sacked Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay is still awaiting a £2m ‘golden handshake’ from the club – but is not considering legal action at this point in time.

It has been suggested that Mackay is preparing to take Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan to court for the money he believes is due to him after his contract was terminated by the Malaysian businessman last Friday.

It was claimed too Mackay was about to put his managerial career on hold to focus on a legal battle but this appears wide of the mark, with insiders in Mackay’s camp insisting the Scot is ready and eager to take another job in football management when he feels the time is right.

Despite his dismissal at Cardiff, Mackay remains one of the brightest young bosses in the game and it looks likely he will make a return to management somewhere sooner rather than later.

But when it comes to unfinished business with the Bluebirds it remains unclear where Tan stands on paying off Mackay what the former manager and his advisers regard as owed by the club.

The Malaysian billionaire had called on Mackay to quit the club in an email but the no-nonsense Scot insisted that would never be the case.

The pair had enjoyed a fractious relationship for sometime but their dispute only really entered the public eye after Mackay’s head of recruitment, Iain Moody, left the club in controversial circumstances in early October.

Tan is said to have been unhappy at some of the transfer business conducted by Mackay and Moody in the transfer market last summer as the club prepared for its first Premier League season in more than half a century.

Mackay’s fate was sealed by a 3-0 Boxing Day home defeat to Southampton, Tan sacking his manager the following day.

There is now a stand-off between both parties as Mackay awaits payment, but those close to him say legal action has not been considered at the moment.

But as things move forward the Mackay camp insist nothing has been been ruled out or nothing ruled in when it comes to seeking financial settlement.

I heard that Tan doesn't want Malky to have another job for 6 months because he doesnt want Malky to save another club from relegation at Cardiffs expense

Wrong again. I was recounting all the stuff said about you to see how you enjoyed being a victim of gossip similar to how you're liking to spread gossip and rumour about the club. Wasn't very pleasant for you by the sound of your reaction so I suggest you learn your lesson and keep your mouth shut.
