Will City fans ever forgive Vincent Tan?

Mon Dec 30, 2013 2:23 pm

I honestly think they would. Not all of them, but certainlty the majority. Over the last few weeks and months the whole Malky / Tan situation has been a disaster, especially the way its been handled and seen across the footballing world. If Tan got a new manager in who brought us success on the pitch I think alot of fans would soon back down and forget the past.
This was proven after our successful season last year winning the championship. I didnt hear too many "Tan Out" chants then. I know theres the hard core "BLUES" that will never forgive him & i respect that. I hate the red but everytime I go down Cardiff City Stadium, I want the team in red to win...just like everyone else. Everytime something bad happens at our club, the re-brand is voiced more than ever but when we were enjoying the success on the pitch the fans backed down. The night we got promoted there were even "TAN THE MAN" banners.
In an ideal world any city fan would love to see Tan go and a billionaire investor take over and change us back to blue but unfortunately things arent that simple.
Im certainlty not defending VT & cant stand the sight of him but Im sure people can see my point. Results on the pitch is the most important thing to win fans over.

Already proven that fans have forgiving him. Some will have not have a bad word spoken about him on this board. No names mentioned.

I personally will never forgive him.

If he turns our debt to equity and returns us to blue, I would forgive him

I agree with Flip Flop, hates a very strong word for somebody you have probably never had a conversation with. Its like when Diana died and millions crying. Dont even know the woman.

When Tan pumped his millions in, they were HIS millions. We can all have opinions but ultimately if you dont like it. Just stay away, there is a queue of people who want tickets. Tan doesnt give a toss about anyone against his brand and why should he.

Im tans bitch! Vincent Tan my lord, Vincent Tan, oooooh lord vincent tan. I admire him for the having the balls to sack a manager who is perfroming badly. 1 win in 8 is not good enough. If i spent that cash i would want better results. Are there better managers out there ? - Yes. So good move as far as im concerned. Vincent Tans barmy army :ayatollah:

Cmon Chuckles me ole fella. Only stating the truth. Do you think 1 win in 8 is acceptable ? I find that embarrasing. We all need to stop licking our malky wounds and move on. Tan was right in what he did. Bring in a better manager now

Agreed, Di was a cheating whore yet when she died the hankies were out, one thing about Tan is he's ruthless and if Cardiff are to be successful that's what you need, as bandit said if you don't like it don't go.

The original post reminds us of "Tan the Man" banners the night we got promoted. We were in red then aswell. All he has done since then has not accepted the financial misdemeanours carried out by Moody, (if there is any truth) and got shot of a poor performing mgr. Yes we will always be grateful to Malky, but if Malky was honest with himself, he took us as far as he could.

You're assuming things now. I'm shamed about your view on Tan. Don't assume all CCFC fans think "TAN THE MAN" & ever thought it.

He a cancer to this club.

The assumptions lie with you dear fellow. Im stating facts, I never once said all City fans. Just a reminder that there were pro tan banners and are still out there, sadly those in suport of the man who has dragged us from the brink of financial oblivian are more than likelt too afraid to bring them out for fear of there own supporters. Id rather a club, than no club at all. Look at Coventry. Would you go to Newports ground to watch city ?

The guy has done a lot for this club, some of you have blinkers on that will always cloud your judgement. He's sacked a manager that was taking us down without a fight at least now we have chance to fight for our lives. Some things he has done are strange but at end if the day he gave us all what we have craved football wise all our lives

"Taking us down without a fight" ??
Cardiff City 3-2 Manchester City
Cardiff City 2-2 Manchester United
Cardiff City 1-0 Swansea City
Cardiff City 0-0 Everton
Fulham 1-2 Cardiff City

I would say thats fight right there !!
Youve made a silly comment there

Reverse the rebrand and all is forgotten.

Other than the rebrand he hadn't done a lot wrong especially when you consider the good.

Re: Will City fans ever forgive Vincent Tan?

Tue Dec 31, 2013 9:28 am

If we look at what Tan has done for the good of the club;

Sorted out some of the historic debt eg Langston
God rid of Dave jones, granted 2 years too late but still only 1 year after he took over
Gave us a young promising manager and backed him well in the championship & last summer
New training complex coming & expanding stadium (maybe premature but only time will tell)
Now saying will give another £25m to bolster the squad

All of the above you could say are signs of a good owner willing to spend money and try to get the club on a firm footing moving forward, if had only done the above we would all be over the moon with him but below ill outline why the guy is a complete and utter nutcase and needs to go and in my view should never be forgiven;

The rebrand (no more needs saying regarding it)
Had NO football knowledge eg Marshall not scoring!!
Divided the fans
Made us a laughing stock
The way he handled Malkys departure
Refusal to meet/talk with the fans regarding anything
The way he has brainwashed club staff/stewards
Booing the team after Sunderland
"Always be red" outburst
Sacking of Ian moody (we will never know the truth)
Employing his sons mate as head of recruitment
Lied to us last summer regarding the rebrand

I could go on and on but I feel the bad more than out weighs the good, for me even if he turned us back blue he can never be forgiven, we all should be united as one and enjoying our first season in the PL but who can honestly say that off field issues have not plagued their season?

A change back to Blue would be a good first step but until that happens then its a BIG NO!!!!

Re: Will City fans ever forgive Vincent Tan?

Tue Dec 31, 2013 9:44 am

Did Tan boo the team or did he boo the ref? depending on you views on Tan you can pick!
Given that he has spent £100 million and wants to sepnd another £25 million, I say go with it, would rather be Tans Whore in red than still be a blue like Pompey, or Coventry, or Wimbledon!

One day he will gangnam dance back to the pacific and the club will return to Blue, but at least it will be in a better position than when he arrived.

What I cannot and will not forgive him for is wearing his trousers so high with his city shirt tucked in.

Forgive him for the rebrand, no.

Forgive him for sacking Malky??? Nothing to forgive.

Perhaps if you had two eyes instead of one you could see Malky was playing the media game and damaging the club in the process.

He was far from innocent in the whole sorry episode.

Tan doesnt buy into this football myth that its ok to go waste millions JUST because its football

Malkys very 1st prem signing was the dane, and he broke our transfer record in doing so...........we needed players that would be playing..100%% in the team for that sort of cash.........
and why the big Malky love in.........yes he was dignified..over dignified. didnt say anything that could be offensive to anyone........watch sky sports.what other managers are so under opinionated, we could actually have done with...yes i do fully understand why our fans hate the re brand, anyone who ever supported any team understands it........
what did MMdo?
the people who hate tan, loved malky, and call anyone that thinks different a tan apologist, supported the biggest tan apologist of all { Malky red ties }........and a tie isnt a rule in the prem either
