Potential Serie A managers

First of all I want to say that all this bollocks about no manager would touch us with a barge pole is the biggest load of tripe I have ever heard.
Roman Abrahamovic has a far worse track record for firing managers and interfering that Tan yet Chelsea have always managed to attract the top managers in the world, including Mourinho, Hiddink, Ancelotti and Scholari when he was hot property. I'm not saying we can attract managers of that calibre but that doesn't mean we can't attract a good manager.

Of all the managers that have been mentioned Biesla is the obvious stand out candidate and it would be unbelievable if we could get him.

There have been a few whispers that the next manager could come from Serie A. There are three potential candidates that stand out for me. The first is the current Lazio manager, and though he won the copa Italia last year he has found himself under a lot of pressure this season and of the three he would be my least favoured. To be honest the only reason why I have mentioned him is due to his strong links with FC Sarajevo (Tans new club)

Montella of Fiorentina would be a great signing for us. He's 39 and plays attacking football and has been a breath of fresh air for us, but you've got to wonder if he would leave Fiorentina for Cardiff City!

The last one is Guidolin from Udinese. He has done an amazing job in the last few years with very little resources. He got Parma promoted the left them in mid table half way through the season to join Udinese. He guided Udinese to fourth above Juventus after having to sell all their best players and replace them with cheap players. He then had to sell up again and replace on a low budget again the next year and finished 3rd!
He has brought through player like Inler and Alexis Sanchez. At the moment Udinese are mid table and he may feel like he has taken them as far as he can and could do with a new challenge. I think he'd be a superb coup for us if we can get him.

I don't think we could get Benitez to be honest and I think if was to return to England that spurs wouldn't be a bad shout.

Vladimir Petković could be in with a good shout. He is the current Lazio team manager who used to manage Lugano, Young Boys & FC Sion before taking over at Lazio in June 2012 & has won the Coppa Italia with them this year...

He has links to Sarajevo & was born there (VT is a shareholder at FC Sarajevo isn't he? :? )

Other than that, I can't see anyone else who fits the bill. I doubt we would be seeing Juventus, Roma, Inter Milan, Napoli or Fiorentina's managers being anyone near interested in taking over our club at they are all in the top 5 of Serie A...

AC Milan are 13th so maybe a cheeky bid to get Massimiliano Allegri in could work AND apparently Clarence Seedorf may be taking over as manager of them so perhaps he could be available!

Petković got sacked by Sion and is now under pressure at Lazio. Allegri sitting in 13th with Milan is disgraceful with their resources and I honestly think from Milan to Cardiff would be one hell of a step down for him.

Personally I think Guidolin is the stand out name for us. He's not with one of the big clubs in Italy so I doubt we'd have any issues improving his wages and he's used to competing with clubs with far bigger resources and over achieving. He's well respected in Italy and I think now is the ideal time to move before one of the big Italian clubs come knocking.

Lazio plays boring football as many Italian teams do. Montella plays an attacking passing game and would be a great choice, but Fiorentina has a good chance to make Champions League. Guidolin has spent one year outside of Italy and he is close to 60. Would he really want to go to a foreign country where he probably doesn't speak the language?

You could be right about Guidolin not wanting to relocate at this stage in his life but then again he could fancy a new challenge and to pit his wits in what has become the most popular league worldwide and he may fancy his chances of propelling himself quickly with us.
