What were your thoughts on Sunderland yesterday?

Thoughts on our team?

Thoughts on our fans?

Cheers lads, I enjoyed the trip down yesterday. Your stadium is a good ground in my opinion.

Feel sorry for your fans having Tan as an owner. Tan Out!

I thought you were awful yesterday if Im honest but you showed real character end of second half.

your fans IMO were the best we've had down CCS. Esp your D-REAM tribute lol that was awesome!

As for Tan out, most normal fans ive spoke with want him to stay, just not be such a fruit loop.....and returnour colours.

You're down with us

Great fans loud for your number, but being a oldie I remember you filling the old Grange end when I was a teenager in the 80's. Must have brought 8/9K

I thought in the first 30 minutes we made a statement to you lot you were expecting cardiff to be an easy match.
I think poyet was shocked and the whole of your team were shocked at how good we were And how good none and kim were.

we could of gone 3-0 up in the first half and it would of been game over. We allowed you back into the game and then that raised your team and you started playing football passing it around.

I think you like us have some half decent players but as a whole team there are either players missing and we both lack the right mentality or workrate

Very poor team, shows how bad we were.

But your fans were superb never stopped singing when you were two down.

Your players I thought were excellent at the end when they came over to you all.

TAN OUT.

I know you drew 2-2 but you were the worst team (bar Swansea) to come to the CCS this season.

Fans were good tho.

Cannot argue with that.

Our defence was a joke. Bardsley, Diakite, Roberge and Dossena were all shocking. Also Larsson starts for us every week but offers nowt

I know I'll be very unpopular (and probably biased) with this but I thought Ki was the best player on the pitch yesterday.

Also I think Jordan Mutch is a decent player, so it was a bit poor when he dived, good refereeing to spot it.

I thought we started very well, and controlled the first half hour. Sunderland looked short on confidence, but started to get back into the game as half time approached. Missed a sitter, and forced an excellent save from David Marshall.

Second half we started well again, and got another early goal. At 2-0 it was looking promising. Sunderland had to chase the game, but thought we were fairly comfortable until the last ten minutes. The substitutions changed the balance of our side, and we started to defend deeper and deeper. Our distribution from the back was dreadful, especially from Marshall. This gave the ball to Sunderland, who were able to mount wave after wave of attacks. Good attacks too.

2-0 is a dangerous lead. One minute you're coasting, next minute it's 2-1, and panic stations! That's exactly what happened. Having said that, it looked as if we had weathered the storm, but sadly not :(

The difference between the Championship and the Premier League is frightening. We would probably have won that game in the Championship, but Sunderland' patient pressure finally told.

Thought your support was very good, especially as you had two away games in three days. I suspect that a trip to Goodison was the more attractive option.

Looking forward to visiting your place after Easter. Not been to the Stadium of Light before.

On a more sober note, I suspect we will both be relegated. Hope not, and time will tell. Gus seems to be doing a good job, and you must be pleased with four points from the two post-Christmas games.

Best of luck for the rest of the season

We should have murdered you, we were by far the better team first half, but we lack the quality needed for the Premiership in front of goal. The ref was either shit or a Sunderland fan, he did everything in his power to let back into the game and to stop us running away with it. Second half we were absolutely terrible and just went back deeper and deeper and virtually said come on lads have a go, which eventually you did, then we made substitutions all very negative and sealed out own fate by allowing you to keep crossing and shooting until you scored at ninety five minutes when I didn't see one injury.

Your fans were ok, I think you will go down, I think we will be OK as long as it's not Sven, because there were some good performances yesterday from Mutch, John and Noone and Campbell, so there is some positives from the game. Fair play your team did show some fight and if you do that every week you never know.....

I forgot to add your left back was shocking worse than Taylor .......

Good post.

I was at Cardiff yesterday but didn't go to Everton. £20 for a ticket at Cardiff compared to £40 for Everton, could have been a factor.

Hope you enjoy your trip to the sol, apart from the result ;) , plenty of pubs that are away fan-friendly in the city centre and a few near the ground if your interested in that

Regarding relegation: I've accepted for months that we are going down but the last 2 games have given me some hope. I think whether yous stay up will depend on who you appoint as your new manager.

Re: What were your thoughts on Sunderland yesterday?

Poor first half, we were in total control. Having said that, if Borini had scored just before half time, then things could have been a lot different.

Second half, you came out more organized, but we still controlled the game until we made three stupid substitutions with about twenty minutes to go. That was our down fall. We defended too deep, which we have often done this season (& last), which gave you the incentive & initiative. If there were 10 minutes of injury time, you would have won.

Great fans. Always brought a lively bunch down to Cardiff over the years. When you were two down, you kept on singing a song over & over again. What song was that?

Re: What were your thoughts on Sunderland yesterday?

Sun Dec 29, 2013 5:11 pm

Dossena is a weak link but Ki ran the show in second half... Good eye for a pass and a strong player. Was interesting seeing him and Kim go toe to toe.

I was scared the second Fletcher came on as I knew he would score one. I was surprised Colback didn't start as he has the spirit you need to get you through such game.

Anyway, at half time I thought we would go on to win 3-0 so credit to the team spirit and the coach for keeping you going right until the end. I think you got a chance of staying up still to be honest but will be tough (just like us)

Re: What were your thoughts on Sunderland yesterday?

The worst team I have seen this season, at the stadium or on the TV. Honestly dreadful and looking through the squad it's mostly made out of failures from other sides. I have never rated Poyet as a manager and don't think he has enough to keep you up. I will be astonished if Sunderland stay up this season. Great fans and it's always been the way with Sunderland.

Re: What were your thoughts on Sunderland yesterday?

Although I thought your team was poor they showed great courage to keep coming at us in the last 20 minutes. It was probably a good time to play us though and I'm surprised you didn't attack us from the start.
As for your fans I thought they were superb. You managed to put our lot to shame with the noise you made (I won't say singing because I couldn't understand a feckin word) especially when you were 2-0 down.
I'd rather see you stay up than the likes of Fulham and Palarse if only for the passion of your fans

Nah we wouldn't have won this game had it been Championship, remember Barnsley last season, late equaliser sums us up, we're f*cking woeful in killing off games.

He should have taken that Brighton team up up and he also comes across as petulant. He is a million times better than PDC who is an absolute lunatic, I think Di Canio would make a great assistant manager though but I just don't see him prepared to take orders from anyone.

In January you really need to replace Roberge and Diakite who I thought were dreadful! Also what's the deal with all the empty seats at your place? Noticed against Chelsea in the cup and some league games this season it's been half empty.
