Paul Ince?

Sun Dec 29, 2013 11:19 am

I've read he's a possibility if Solskaer falls out. In fairness, he's done a cracking job at Blackpool and with little or no resources.

I wouldn't be disappointed if he got the job. His son would most definitely join him as well - which would be an added bonus.

Another championship manager, no better than holloway, warnock, malky, McDermott, Adkins

I know what you saying, but Gus Poyet was another championship manager and he just got a result at Everton and at ours yesterday. Those you've mentioned never played at Ince's level either. I wouldn't rule him out!

I feckin hope not. A step backwards if "Big time Charlie" joins us.

He's arrogant, confident, aggressive and very passionate - just what we need - and he's got Blackpool punching well above their weight.

Sorry - but what cracking job has he done at Blackpool? They are a mid to upper table Championship side. He was hopeless at Blackburn and not liked by the players or fans. He thinks he is better than he is and I can see real problems if he comes in.

Blackpool are 10th, but 3 points off a play-off position. Ince has had to beg, borrow and steal to get players in and has been given no money. They were in turmoil when he arrived with 2 managers leaving within month of each other and their was talk of him walking out himself. He's stabilised the club and got them competitive. He also did a great job at MK Dons. Yes. he's a hot head, but given the resources I think he could be a top manager in the PL. He played in Europe for Inter Milan as well, so he has european playing experience. I'm not touting him, because i'd like to see OGS here, but as an alternative, i'd prefer someone like him to Sven Goran Ericsson or the return of Dave Jones. Just saying.

Who would you accept then? Spurs just appointed Tim Sherwood. I wonder how many on here would have hit the roof had he got the job here! Has he managed before, I'm not sure he has?

10th in the Championship - hmmm. As for Sherwood - different scenario, he knows Spurs inside out. Would be a bit like Bellamy taking the job for us. I would prefer him than Ince, The Turk - whoever he is, Ericsson or the return of DJ. This is why we shouldn't make a knee jerk appointment but get it right even if takes a while.

Just because he knows the place inside doesn't mean anything. Bellamy might be an awful manager who knows. It would be bigger risk with him being manager than Ince in my opinion. Agreed it cannot be a knee jerk reaction either, but then again we don't have bags of time with the transfer window and games coming thick and fast we need someone ASAP.

Bellamy will have all the passion and fire of a Kardiff Kid but for me he can be toooooo hot headed.

of the names mentioned so far, apart from Hoddle, I do not rate them but I think Bellamy and "Dutch ray" as coach could just work, maybe? BUT A BIG MAYBE?

With Malky's brand of football then we were almost certainly going to be relegated mate. Yesterday, we played some good stuff at times and at 2-0 should've won, but we were naive and let them back into the game, had they had more time - then we would've lost that 3-2. We need 4 to 5 new players that can cut it, but we'll be lucky to get 2 in over the window.

Incey would at least bring in one player straight away who'd add quality to the flanks - and I also think he'd keep us up.

Personally, I wouldn't appoint Bellamy but was making the analogy as you brought up Sherwood. Of all the candidates that have been mentioned the dream team for me would be Gary Neville and Hoddle as DOF. Doubt it will happen though. We'll probably end up with Ince and Sven
