and not get over run in midfield?
Could this work?
I remember Rogers trying to keep both Suarez and Sturridge happy earlier on in the season. Both wanted to play through the middle so he went to 3-5-2 with wing backs and it worked.
A lot of people are saying on here Cornelius and Campbell could/should be our front 2. Fine I've no problem with that and given an injury free run of games that could develop into a good partnership.
However - if we go 4-4-2 like we tried against Southampton we will get murdered as I'm pretty sure we've not got a combination of two players who could handle playing against a three man midfield.
We could play three centre backs (Caulks, Turner & Hudson/Medel as he plays there for Chile so has experience in that position).
But have we any capable wing backs?
Declan John showed today he loves getting forward so I'm sure he could be a good wing back given a run of games, not so sure about Catherine on the other side mind. He's raw, got a good engine but going forward he's another McNaughton!!
That said you could in theory have a trio of Mutch, Kimbo or Whitts & Medel (Gunnar if you play Medel at centre back).
Surely must be worth a go? It really cannot get any worse.
I'm still sure there are 9 other teams who are in the same boat as us - listening to the phone in's loads of supporters from clubs around us are fearing the worst (we aren't the only doom & gloom merchants in the Premiership

)
What do you think of a team looking like:
Marshall
Caulker
Turner
Hudson
John
Catherine
Medel
Mutch
Kimbo or Whitts
Cornelius
Campbell
