A forum for all things Cardiff City

Friday 27th December 2013.
Jan Aage Fjortoft has told talkSPORT there is no chance that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take over at Cardiff after Malky Mackay was sacked.
The former Manchester United legend has been installed as the bookmakers favourite to take over in the Welsh capital and is frequently linked with Premier League jobs.
But ex-Middlesbrough player Fjortoft told Keys and Gray: "[It] won’t happen. I understand that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won’t pick a club, he will pick a owner so Cardiff won’t happen. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did an interview some weeks ago and said if he goes to England he will be very aware of what owner he’s going to work with.
"He will pick an owner and not a club. Based on what I know there’s no chance he’ll go to Cardiff City."
Former Norway international Fjortoft says it's no surprise that his compatriot is linked with bigger jobs considering the fact he has won two successive Norwegian titles with Molde in his first managerial role.
"He has built up a club with Molde, who hadn’t won a thing for 100 years. His contract situation is that he has a contract until the summer of 2014, which is normal, but not in Norway as our season goes until November 2014, so it’s all fitted for him to go to England.
"Ole Gunnar wants to build up something. He’s always been intelligent through his career. He will take his time and find the right club. It will be England for him because I can’t see any other markets that he will have that bonus or that reputation or that loyalty from the English fans."

That's interesting. I don't think any decent manager with any nads would want to work with Tan personally. Some of the Tan apologists on here thinkit makes no difference but who wants to work with a basket case? We'll see.

To many people want the job at cardiff for the wrong reasons aThen again some managers love the prospect at seeing what they can do with money available they wont have at west brom or villa.
Solskjaer doesnt strike me as a greedy man but maybe he does see potential at cardiff city and will know from his playing days we have a great city and alot of investment potential and obviously alot of great components on a fans perspective

I really hope I'm wrong Sloper about the manager but we're viewed as a basket case in the media - quite rightly too

Depends if he wants to pick an owner who will give a nice juicy contract, plenty of funds to spend in the transfer market and most importantly a Premiership job. There are plenty of managers that would

footballer, manager etc, money talks, if hes offered the right money. he will come here, tan can turn on the charm. like a flick of a switch
Fri Dec 27, 2013 11:02 pm
Who knows it's just one mans view, and he is guessing, it will all come down to cash and potential and we can offer both, a couple of years here has lifted Malky's profile no end ...........
Fri Dec 27, 2013 11:05 pm
I think Craig Bellamy will be the next manager
Fri Dec 27, 2013 11:17 pm
Vincent Tan will be our manager, he'll just put a name in like that Turkish fella.
Fri Dec 27, 2013 11:19 pm
Anyone who takes this role, I will not say job, will need to suck cock and will end their career.

who would come in and work for this clown owners who knows nothing.
please protest in numbered we need to get Tan out ,he has ruin the club and the town and Tan is not a football man.

If the Mirror article is true, and I'm not saying it is, then the quote "A source close to Tan said: “We are very confident - and he will be given whatever it takes to keep the club in the Premier League.”" makes you think why did Tan apparently go berserk when Malky said he wanted to sign 3 players in January. Seems like Tan was simply trying to find justification for sacking Malky. So the money is there for players but only for the new manager. What a conniving lying f*cking toad Tan is.

What decent manager would want to take the Cardiff job ? Ferguson will warn OGS away from a basket case of an owner like we have, otherwise his managerial career will be vet before it's starts

Over before it starts

obviously contact has been made with solskjaer Cardiff fits the bill for his needs.
Hes not going to want to come into a club like palace or west brom with little prospect of changing the squad or competing for europe.
we have the funds available for him to assemble his own squad and if money is available and spent well we could be a top 10 club flirting with europe within 2 years on potential grounds

It came from Talk sport...
Credibility right there....
I can remember listening to talk sport and it said Jason Koumas had signed a 3 year deal with Cardiff.
When he actually signed a contract extension with the Baggies..
And the Moose this season said to me on Twitter that he knew for a fact that Tom and Paul Ince were not in Cardiff for Talks.
On the Day pictures came out of Paul and Thomas at Cardiff Central en route to stadium.
I know it came from Fjortoft but still....

No he stated quite clearly that he would not give MALKY any money in January due to the fact that Malky had spent his money so unwisely. He wrongly trusted Malky and Moody and they blew it on crazy wages, agents fees and add-ons. Tan's fault for believing he could trust football people to spend his money but there was no way he was ever going to give anymore money to Malky hence his outburst at Malky's suggestion he needed even more money

The only person who will Work for tan will be anotheryes man or journeyman I.e Ericsson looking for a wedge

Quite correct, but Managers just waste millions on the likes of Cornelious and Brayford to sit on their fat arses contributing nothing when we needed players to hit the ground running.

Fjortoft is a retarded windmill. He is as ITK as me. He's just commenting on a Ferguson quote. Pure speculation.
