Southampton have one of the most effective midfields in the Premier League so going 4-4-2, even at home, by Malky was naive but who is to say that having 5 in the middle would have made a difference. I knew we'd struggle as soon as I saw that Medel (spot the 'e' there, not f*cking Medal - I'm not the spelling police but ffs get our own players' names right) was missing through illness.

I do think it would be worth playing 4-5-1 and starting with Cornelius up front. Campbell, Odemwingie, Maynard and Bellamy are all unable to do the lone striker role so it's time to gamble in my opinion. As for today... well, we've seemingly ballsed it so might as well go 4-5-1 and see how it works with Cornelius up top on his own.
