Defender Turner hailed the job Mackay has done and fails to see any issue withe the way the squad is developing under him

Cardiff City defender Ben Turner stressed his belief that Malky Mackay should stay when he said: “I’ve loved every minute playing under him - he’s doing a fantastic job.”

Turner was talking by the side of the Anfield pitch in front of almost 3,000 Cardiff City fans singing their support for the Bluebirds manager.

“I hope the manager stays with us,” said Turner. “He is doing a fantastic job. He has taken us to the League Cup final, we won the Championship last season and have not been in the relegation zone in our first Premier League season.

“I don’t see any issue with our development as a squad. That’s the manager’s job and he’s doing it well. You can see what fans think. The supporters have even taken their backing to a whole new level.

“Those fans are fantastic. They are entitled to their opinion - it’s their club.”

The Bluebirds were beaten 3-1 after Liverpool scored three times in a 20 minute first half spell and Turner said: “We played well during the first half, but in those 20 minutes, through no fault of our own, the fantastic quality of Suarez killed the game off.

“We knew if we stuck at it there was every chance we could give Cardiff fans something to cheer. It was important we tried to put other issues to one side.”

annis,i believe the players are well aware of the issues surrounding the club regarding the rebrand.caulker said after scoring v the jacks when questioned about his time at the lib.-im a bluebird now.very pionted.i actually think malky whilst he has enjoyed the dollor off tan is uneasy about the rebrand.didnt seem comfortable around the time .also he is a celtic lad.love or hate celtic but if their colours were messed with do you think he,d be happy?just my opinion
