Back to football...
Would you send medel away for a week over xmas? Obviously off the races last weekend, but I think he needs a rest. I know we need him, but we don't want him picking up am injury whilst tired, I'd Send him home until New year's and hope he comes back refreshed and up for the fight again.

Yep good point.
He looked shagged out yesterday. Boys played an awful lot of football, got one eye on the worldcup and is a long way from home. Sneaky fortnight off wont do him any harm.

He's never done an xmas football schedule, looks knackered. Go and have xmas with the family.

No chance, vital.
We did look better when he went off but I think that was down to us actually trying to attack.

I'd rest him in the Southampton game, and bring him back for Sunderland, personally. Guy looks dead on his feet.

Southampton is a big game where we will need Medel for than Sunderland surely.

I massively agree that we need him for the next few games, well every game. But if he plays like he did against Liverpool again he's useless. Might as well not have him than be like having 10 men again.
A lot of Latin/ South American players tail off over dec-jan in the first year of English football. They aren't used to it, more games, less family time, away from home. All adds up. Got to see past the pitch and think of why they aren't performing or not in the he team. Fergie sent Ronaldo and nani back home for a week over the winter 2 seasons running. Not sure what week it was or how many others he did it with. But he def did it with those.

Jesus............this always tickles me..............they are playing Football........a game they love......FOOTBALL......they are not working in a coal level taking out 22ft of coal.......or digging drainage ditches......they are playing football ...............and getting well bloody paid for it..........ask some poor person working in a care home all over christmas for the minimum wage if they would fancy a bit of time with their family and you would get a response.

In theory, resting medel isnt a bad idea but when to rest him is crucial. Resting him for the games where its vitally important that we get AT LEAST 4/6 points is risky. I would suggest resting him for a game or 2 in jan and have something like cowie and whits sitting in front with wingers and cornelius with mutch just behind. We will do well to get 4 points in jan with or without medel

I agree. But if he doesn't perform Boxing Day, I'd be resting him early. He's been off it for a few games now but showed vastly against the scousers
