Something that seems to be overlooked is who has the power to hire or fire?
I presume that Malky's contract is with the club and not with Tan. Therefore Tan cannot sack him, only the Chairman or Chief Executive. To enforce his view the majority share owner would have to ask the Board to do so. If the Board stood up to Tan he would have to ask the Company Secretary to call a Special General Meeting so that he could appoint new directors to do his bidding.
I'm sure a lawyer could have great fun with what has been going on.
