A forum for all things Cardiff City

The way this has unraveled, in front of the world's media, is farcical. Who is advising Tan? Because if it were me, seeing the headlines, I'd be handing them their P45's before Malky.
While I do believe that Malky seems to have wasted much of the summer's budget - we are still 15th in the Premier League. Not a position in which a first-time PL club should be looking to sack their manager.
If Tan wanted to be worshiped he should have kept us - or returned us - to blue. The reason he isn't is because none of us wanted the kit changed to red - nobody wanted the removal of blue or the bluebird. And I say that owning the red home kit, and having worn it in support of the players and the team that now play in it, and believing that it was an acceptable price to pay for debt-free, long-term stability, but this isn't that.
What stuns me is that the Football Association allow foreign owners to come in and alter or tailor the aesthetics of whatever clubs they buy to suit their whims. This should not be allowed to happen and the FA need to look at protecting the history and traditions of clubs in this country. Somehow, I believe, if the Glazer's had wanted to change the Manchester United badge and kit, the FA would not have been so quiet.
Hopefully with the world's press out for blood, the fans protesting, Tan will sell-up and leave.
THE MOST SOBERING PROTEST WOULD BE AN EMPTY STADIUM. A SEA OF EMPTY BLUE SEATS WOULD BE A POWERFUL STATEMENT. IT HAVE HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE.

It's a nice idea but it's never going to happen.
A sea of blue fans chanting pro-blue / anti-Tan songs would be better and more realistic.

It wouldn't be better. A few chants and a crowd decked in blue would be nothing more than a footnote in any match report. A Premier League club playing in front of empty seats would be it's own story. I believe whatever happens, when Tan sees that stadium full he thinks "well, they keep coming back". A few songs isn't going to change anything. No money spent on concessions or merchandise on a match day and an empty stadium says an awful lot more.

I meant it's a better idea in the way that it's realistic. There is 100% no way there would be a full boycott at any of our games. Even if you got 1000, 2000 or 3000 people on board with the idea (which is a lot of people), it would make no difference at all. The only way this would work is if you managed to get every single season ticket holder on board.
I completely get what you're saying and it would be brilliant, but honestly it's never going to happen, there will always be fans who will turn up.

It would be possible is people like Vince Alm and Carl Curtis put articles in the Echo telling everyone about a boycott. Also, if there were demonstrations on all the roads and gates to the stadium it would encourage others who may not have heard of a boycott not to attend. I'm all for a boycott even though I admit I was not against the colour change, but this is a step too far by Tan.

I'm a season ticket holder but Iv'e been in China since early July and the first game back for me would be our next home game (you can't believe how much i want to see Cardiff in the PL) but I honestly believe this is the right thing to do and I am seriously considering not showing on Boxing Day in protest.
It's not necessarily for Malky (I'm not sure he's a PL manager and wasn't last year, and I think he has his own agenda) but he does deserve much better than this, every manager does, and I'm just not sure what VT plans do do next. And that worries me.

People will want to go to the match that can't be stopped, but what if people walked down to the concourse all together ?

Great idea, unrealistic reality though...

Well then we deserve to shafted then, end of story

You're not going to get All the fans on side with a protest whilst one small section keep labelling the others "plastics" and such. Honestly, if this forum is anything to go by, there's a real shitty attitude from some City fans toward others, yet those same fans now want everyone to join them in standing up to Tan and such.
The supporters need to stop bitching and fighting each other, before even considering protesting against Tan, else it's a waste of time.

I did put this across in another thread... Asking people not to go simply won't happen. I suggest having people on the turnstiles with signs and asking people to enter the stadium late 5-10 mins after the start of the game? Not everyone will do it but more will than not turn up at all.

Great comment & you've summed it up perfectly.

I don't think empty seats help anyone.
He's already got our money for the season tickets, he won't care about empty seats.
Just turn up in blue.

If it's to be done it needs to be done as a strike.
Clear, visible, peaceful (no hassle for other fans) demonstrations
Large signs and loud songs
A Pickett line.
We can't enter the stadium as that would defeat the object. Spending our money on his beer and burgers completely defeats the object.
We want our club back!!!
