Been there ever since Lim issued the public statement on Monday, add to that this email telling MM to resign or be sacked makes this a slam dunk of a case.

At the best of times VT is unpredictable and likely to do anything on a whim but for him this, in my opinion, is about saving face and he WILL get rid of MM whatever the cost.

there has to be a last straw and you have to resign and go quickly. the email would have been perfect, now it needs to be something else, that could be as simple as a phone call where tan says resign cos I want you gone.

Anyone think that with the changing of wording by BBC and Sky where all of a sudden has become a letter etc that this could all have been a major f**k up by Lim by releasing stuff that Tan might have implied, but never actually said. As someone mentioned on another thread there are no quote marks around any of the alleged statements and now backtracking and Malky going to Liverpool. I just can't understand why such a successful business man who must be used to employment laws has made such a huge faux pas in the handling of this. Just a thought...

Maybe so, but I would imagine Malky is employed under EU laws. That wasn't really my point, which was - surely Tan and his lackey's are used to dealing with the media in many countries so how have they managed to screw this up so badly. Do you think Lim has fucked up by releasing that statement on Monday as it has effectively played right into Malky's hands - I can't imagine Tan is very happy about that.

Said on Sky Sports News earlier Malky has a good case for constructive dismissal already and that the LMA are advising him and are watching matters closely.

They were definitely using different terminology this afternoon than this morning -it was along the lines of the BBC/Sky understands that an email/letter has been sent and that there has allegedly been a breakdown in the relationship instead of the sensationalism of the last 24 hours where they were proclaiming it all as fact. These are not the exact words they used as I am away from the TV now, but that's what they were alluding too.

The prob you get is the far east boys " think " like they are in the far east, what other interests does Tan have in Europe ? im not sure, The big question is to me of which im unsure is Simon Lim related to Peter Lim, if so he could probably leave skid marks in Tans personal toilet and get away with it.

Interesting - hadn't though there might be a family tie up there. Perhaps Tan could get Borat on toilet cleaning duties if that's the case or do you need a visa for that too

Don't be silly.
This is for secretaries and juniors/middle managers only and deals are normally done. Anyone senior who does this stuff is a wanker.

I was merely asking because I didn't know. How on earth is that silly?

I very much doubt he's employed under EU Laws as more and likely a director of a company which is wages go into like the vast majority of footballers
