Malky Mackay: Cardiff owner agrees to hold last-minute talks

By David Ornstein

Cardiff owner Vincent Tan has instructed chairman Mehmet Dalman to meet him in London on Friday night for talks to decide the future of manager Malkay Mackay.
Tan is flying to the United Kingdom having told Mackay, 41, to resign or face being dismissed.
Dalman convinced the Malaysian businessman to hold one final round of negotiations.

“All I'm here to do is talk about the Liverpool game ”

Cardiff assistant David Kerslake responds to questions at Friday's news conference
Mackay is now expected to take charge of the team at Liverpool on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Tan - who is currently travelling to the UK from Malaysia via Abu Dhabi - gave Dalman the go-ahead to set about appointing a successor to Mackay and was deciding whether to sack the Scot before or after the weekend's game.
Dalman has a preferred candidate to replace Mackay should he be dismissed - the manager is a high-profile name currently in work outside the UK.
It is understood he would be keen to join Cardiff, but only if given concrete and binding assurances on issues such as Tan's involvement and the job description.
Tan did speak to former Bluebirds boss Dave Jones about a return to the club in some capacity, but he does not intend to follow through with that idea. Jones was replaced by Mackay in June 2011.

David Kerslake tries to deflect questions about Mackay's future

The owner sent Mackay a letter by email on Monday listing at length his grievances with the 41-year-old and giving him the ultimatum to resign or face being sacked.
Their relationship is understood to be beyond repair, but Mackay has stated he will not resign.
Assistant manager David Kerslake, rather than Mackay, faced the media at a news conference on Friday to look ahead to Saturday's game against Liverpool and refused to discuss Mackay's position.

"All I'm here to do is talk about the Liverpool game," he said. :malky:

Who will work with tan now after his laughable running of ccfc.

If he gives assurance to leave footballing matters on the pitch to any new manager then why couldn't he do that for malky.

Sorry tan is bang out of order.no funds available in january so what manager is gonna come here

One of the problems with this situation is that if Tan sacks Malky then he could possibly sign for West Brom. A new manager then comes here that the players are not happy with....Malky then comes in with bids for those players. Could happen....it's happened at other clubs.

Tan knows nothing about footballing politics and that will be his undoing.

Fair point but the new manager will want his assurance that tan dont get involved.

Just saying malky deserves the same

Your all well off.

It's Borat, I guarantee it.

Tan flew to Never Never Land. Captain Hook told him to Clock Off. Last minute negotiations with Allen Stanford to be our Chief Financial Officer.

Plus Dave Jones as Director of Football, oh shit someone beat me to that one.

Not a board meeting at all. Its a meeting between Tan and Malky with Dalman as a witness.

Reading it again Tan has ordered Dalman to London. I would imagine Dalman will try and persuade Tan to talk to Malky. I would say Tan will tell Dalman to sack him.

Tan being a blinkered fool living in a world of yes men wont have a clue how much of a clown he has made of himself here in the UK. he is for a shock should he come to the CCS again i am sure of that because i cant see MM being in charge for the saints game.
