This morning's press conference LATEST

Fri Dec 20, 2013 10:25 am

RE: The press conference which commenced around 9:15 this morning.

There is a press blackout. The press are there, obviously, but they are blocked from reporting on events until after the press conference has been concluded. Malky is not in attendance. All questions put to the club representatives (notably David Kerslake and Ben Turner) are to be about the Liverpool game, no other matters are to be discussed. Another board meeting has ben scheduled for this afternoon, apparently to discuss Malky's future. Worrying times.

I'm not anti-Tan, and I'm not anti-Malky, even though some on here think it's impossible to not have an agenda against at least one of those people. But I have to say, that press conference was the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen. Complete lack of respect to the media, and to the supporters - I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that from a Premiership club.

And for anyone who has seen the footage, seems to me the club have now created another problem: the media are going to be out to get them now. Truth of today's football world: you want the media on your side. This club has just fucked itself over, and who on gods green Earth on that media team thought it would be a good idea to handle it how they did?

What a joke. Absolute joke.
