This just popped up on Wales online. Not the most reliable of sources, but the bookies are rarely wrong...

Manchester United FC legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer emerges as huge favourite to be next Cardiff City manager

The odds on the Norwegian replacing Malky Mackay as Bluebirds boss have dramatically shortened in the past week

Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been installed as overwhelming favourite by two bookmakers to become the next Cardiff City manager post-Malky Mackay.

The future of the popular Bluebirds boss has been thrown into further doubt following stinging remarks directed his way by Cardiff owner Vincent Tan.

It has prompted BetVictor and Stan James to place Solskjaer at the top of a book on the next permanent Cardiff manager.

Solskjaer is as short as 1-2 odds on favourite, with Sven Goran-Eriksson at 12-1 in second position. Former Cardiff chief Dave Jones is also placed high up in the betting at 14-1, followed by Craig Bellamy and Roberto Di Matteo (each 16-1) and Gianfranco Zola.

The news comes as Solskjaer has also been placed as favourite to be the next West Brom manager after his Norwegian club Molde confirmed two approaches had been made for his services from Britain.

The former Old Trafford striker has enhanced his coaching credentials with back-to-back titles in his native Norway, the club's first in their history.

That success and a failure to extend his current contract, which expires in 2014, has seen Solskjaer linked to various vacancies, with his name heading the list of candidates for the vacant West Brom post and also the Cardiff job, whenever that comes up.
