Where do the club want to be at the end of the season? At the moment we seem to be in self destruct mode and the teams around us must be rubbing their hands with glee. Either MM should be backed or sacked and at the mo it looks like the second scenario. If this undermining and current stance continues we are going to end up back in the Championship.
The last thing that we need in a relegation fight is instability and that's what we have got. What are the players thinking and how will they respond? It surely makes their job difficult.
At the end of the day the summer transfer dealings must have been signed off by someone. A 15m overspend is surely peanuts if it ensures the clubs status in the Premier League with its huge financial rewards. For the club to say that we were 7 th in the summer big spenders, that may well be true but we needed to invest more because we did not have a premiership squad. Along with Hull and Palace we were way behind the other top flight clubs. Hence the need to spend more to help us survive the first season. All the off field antics does question where the club want to be. Do they want relegation and a return to small crowds? That is a possibility in the future. I suppose only time will tell what the clubs ambitions are.
Let's hope that MM leads the team into the game on Saturday, the team respond and we get something from the game.
