This. I'm not sure how Malky / Moody can be blamed for overspending.

This is a football club, a proper business with processes / checks / signoffs in place - it's not like they went out with Tan's credit card, promised to spend only £35m and came back with shopping bags full of players having spent £50m. Every spend and every contract would have required approval.
