Liverpool have just taken Spurs apart

Sun Dec 15, 2013 5:51 pm

Liverpool have looked dangerous every time they have broke forwards and this is exactly why Malky sets us up to be organised and difficult to break down, or "negative" as some of you seem to think. Malky has no option but to set us up to get men behind the ball next Saturday and we need to spoil the game as much as possible. It won't be pretty and we will have to defend for our lives, but if we stay in the game for the first 70 minutes, I'm hoping Liverpool will get frustrated, run out of ideas and we can capitalise. It's the only way we will get a result in my opinion. I just hope nobody criticises Malky for his "negative" tactics if we fail to get a result.

I swear some of you dont bother reading. Not one person has moaned about Malky's tactics against the big teams. Its his tactics against the teams around us ie)norwich, stoke, palace etc. Except yesterday where hopefully he'll have learnt.

Why should we park the bus against Palace......ridiculous if you think thats correct.

And what will be our approach if we concede a goal in the first few minutes?

Damage limitation for the rest of the game?

Or do you think we might try to get an equalizer?

If we go a goal down, try and stay in the game until 75 minutes, then go more adventurous at the end and try to get an equaliser. Better than playing open, attacking football and being 4-0 down at half time with Suarez having the space to do what he likes don't you think?

Everyone has been moaning at Malky's tactics calling for him to be sacked lately. Any game away from home in the Premiership is a tough game, even Palace. We got battered away to Norwich by playing 4 attacking midfielders behind Campbell. Malky has learnt from that game and we must be organised and hard to beat to pick up points on the road. I suppose you think a draw away to Stoke is a bad result and we should have attacked them more, even though they beat Chelsea their following home game.

Chelsea battered Stoke for 45mins.........Stoke rode their luck and won..........WE would have dug deeper trenches and awaited the second half onslaught...........

How Stoke did against Chelsea is irrelevant. Against us they were awful and there for the taking. Every away game is tough, but against teams around us we can show some ambition.

And how did that work out against Palace, a team vastly inferior to Liverpool?

Why does playing in a slightly more attacking fashion mean that we are more likely to be 4-0 down at half time?

Perhaps if we spent a bit more time attacking and retaining the ball the opposition wouldn't have so many opportunities to score.

Or are we saying that our players are only good enough to defend for 75 minutes and hope to nick a goal from a break away or a set piece?
