Never Had It So Good

I can't understand the amount of complaining going on in this forum. Whenever I select a thread, all I seem to read is how bad our manager is, how poor most of our players are, and how crap our tactics are. I can only assume that most of these comments are made from people who haven't been following this club for any great length of time. I've supported the City for longer than I care to admit, and for the bulk of the time I've been down there, there have more often than not been 70 or 80 higher placed teams than us in the league, and there have been times where I seriously thought that we could be in danger of playing non league football. With the exception of a brief period during the early 70's, we have up until recently been a small average lower league team, playing in a dilapidated stadium in front of 6 or 7,000 fans on a good day. Today, there are just 15 teams higher placed than us, and we play in a modern 28000 all seater stadium. If someone had told me 10 or 15 years back where we would be today, I would have said that they were living in cloud cuckoo land, because I would have thought it be more likely we would be playing where Wrexham are right now. Even during those bad days, I never heard the barrage of abuse directed at our players and manager that I read on here regularly. The way things are going, I'm surprised that out team are not booed before they even come out onto the pitch,judging by the comments I read on this forum. Survival is our only aim this season, and we should be in this together, and give our players encouragement and support instead of criticism and complaints. In my lifetime, we've never been close to where we are now, and the only thing I could complain about at this time is not playing in blue.
