Is it a lot stronger than the last 2 seasons?
I just feel it is. 2 seasons ago it was Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton who got demoted. All 3 struggled in the championship with one of them getting relegated. We did the double over Blackburn, both games very comfortable for us and it was only Bolton who made a go off it only just failing to make the play-off. This season one of them is applying its trade is league one while the other 2 look like they are going to struggle again.
Last season 2 of the 3 relegated teams had only just been promoted, Reading being a one season wonder team and QPR who narrowly missed relegation the season before but could not do the same last campaign. Wigan are the other team. At least this season 2 of them are making a go off it in the championship, Reading and QPR but surprisingly Wigan are struggling just like the other 3 that came down the season before.
It just makes me wonder if some of the established premier teams are on the verge of meltdown. Out of those listed above Blackburn, Bolton, Wolves and Wigan were the establsihed teams who now look like they are set for a time in the lower leagues. Reading and QPR were the new boys who look like they are capable of bouncing back after finding the premier perhaps a bridge too far for the moment.
