Malky: "I thought we started well and put WBA on the back foot straight away - it gave us that momentum."
Malky: "I'm delighted for them. It's another win, another clean sheet and it's against a side around us."
Malky: "David Marshall has been immense for me and that save from Long at the end was a top, top save."
Malky: "I'm delighted for Whitts. He's one of my most consistent performers."
Malky Mackay hailed a vital victory for Cardiff City after his side sealed victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Peter Whittingham headed home the winner in the 65th minute to hand Cardiff a win which lifted them up into 14th place in the Premier League table.
And the City boss was delighted with his side’s display as they ground out a result against the Baggies.
“It was an important win for us against a team who are around about us in the league,” said Mackay.
“A clean sheet and a real good performance. I said to the boys at half-time to just have patience and grind them down, and I think we deserve it on the balance of play.”

"He's one of my most consistent performers", sorry to say Malky but apart from that goal today he's been pretty useless the past few games and his set pieces have also gone shit

Maybe he's trying to build the lad's confidence?

Would have to agree with Malky's comments except Whittingham ,he was useless again today .the goal was the only positive contribution from whitts. Sure his injury was just the shock of heading the ball !!!

Yes, for a
few games, recently. Other than that, he's been consistently good.

Whitts and Taylor are pretty poor, don't contribute much to the team, time for a change me thinks.

'don't contribute'?! Who scored the winning goal today, then?
And Taylor is a solid left-back, one of the best the club have had.

Taylor has been Excellent this season for us!! Yes he's made one or two errors, but overall he's been fantastic, and I was one of the ones worrying that he was going to be a real weak link in our squad, but he has stepped up so well.
Whitts hasn't impressed me though, and I do disagree with Malky on the consistency comment.
He was very very poor today, Great header for the goal, but he did nothing else really, and his delivery wasn't as good as normal.

Doesn't a couple of names like Medel and Caulker spring to mind? Having said that, Malky is right,Whittingham has been our most consistent player: just not in the way he meant!
