Best cardiff player to never reach their full potential?

Fri Dec 13, 2013 1:45 pm

One name comes to mind, leon jeanne obviously very talented and had the ability be a top top player for club and country.

I also think graham kavanagh was a class act and apart from 1 or 2 brief stints in the premier league he was unlucky not to of had a career in the top flight.

And thirdly I think scott young had the ability to play for wales and do very well in championship at least. as collins and gabbidon he obviously had injuries and things never worked out for whatever reason

Tony Villars, most naturally gifted player i've seen in a City shirt in almost fifty years of watching.

For me it's Lee Jarman I thought he had it all but seems he did but not the mental strength to achieve Also Nathan Blake I really think he could have done so much more A friend of mine played for city at the time and said his best position was centre back but he hated playing there.

According to my late dad.. There could be only one.. I'm a little too young to remember him but my dad raved about him. I got his picture upon my wall with the two fingers in the air. :ayatollah:

Possibly because many wouldn't have actually seen him play? I know I certainly didn't & most will give examples of players from their era.

Leon Jeanne, Lee Jarman & Jason Koumas.

Never saw Robin Friday play - so for me Lee Jarman, thought he would go onto play for one of the big clubs.

I know Lee well, a talented player, but sadly went of the rails, no support.

Lee Jarman had no bottle, commitnent or mental strength.

He had more natural ability than Scott Young but Scott had far more desire to succeed.

RF obviously.

Darcy Blake. Think of that Wales game versus England where he bossed Rooney, now he's in Palace's reserve team
