Wed Dec 11, 2013 5:34 pm

just reading over on the bolton board to see what they were saying about joe mason..

everything is positive, he had his first start on saturday and scored.

Bolton fans were saying how good his movement is and how comfortable he looked on the ball.
Also bolton defender tim ream The American also hailed Mason's impact, saying: "Joe out there was just 'wow', what a player he is going to be.

I hope we do keep him still alot more to see from him i believe :ayatollah:

I agree. With Malky's reluctance to play 2 strikers Joe is someone who could play in the hole between Campbell and the midfield, ideally placed to offer support to Campbell (or whoever) when we attack and drop back slightly into midfield when we need him to. Look at his goal in the Cup final v Liverpool.....found loads of space in their box and a superb finish. :ayatollah:

Joe mason is a number 10 in the making mate he's the only player in our squad who I think could thrive in the role between midfield and striker and that's down to his movement and reading of the game for such a young age he oozes class and he is the missing link for me at the moment if you play 4-5-1 which most prem teams do you need wingers or if you playing more through the middle u need a solid number 10 and we don't have that hence why we can't link play between midfield and strikers and sit back defending 80 minutes of the match we're always going to concede goals this way and score very little

Joe has the potential to shine in this position and god knows we need to try something else saturday

Keep hearing the potential about Joe but he's 22 and should be well and truly in MMs plans now. I think he will end up leaving.

Andros Townsend is also 22, so maybe he still has a chance

He needs to be given a chance still the best option IMO to play number 10 we have and he isn't making the squad at all find it hard to belive myself malky must have fallen out with hum

I hope so but he didn't play much last season. I don't think we will keep him

From a 100% reliable source I spoke to this week: "Joe Mason is going no where, he's still young and needs games under his belt, thus the loan move, but firmly in Malky's future plans" :ayatollah:

Joe done well in championship proved himself straight from playing lower leagues for me he deserved the chance for a crack in the 1st team this season because he brings something we aint got at the moment which we miss upfront and he got a good eye for goal im sure he could of proved himself given the chance! Bright future if he gets 1st team action IMO

If malky actually changed the line-up for once and gave other players a chance then Mason would shine. MM brought Noone on today and looked what happened, mason might do the same thing.
