hi guys, i work in a school and i can't help but notice 70% of pupils all support "arsenal, cheslea, united, liverpool, mancity, spurs" theres around 20% support swansea, and 10% dont like football.. there is 1 boy who plays for cardiffs kids teams, and has done for a few years, yet every week he comes in chanting different team names, the other week he was chanting "hull city because they beat liverpool" today he was chanting "palace, palace" this is only because they won a game on the weekend. i asked him about his support for cardiff and he says, he goes as he has a season ticket, he doesnt really support them, and prefers watching teams that play against us. and he doesnt like swansea. the ones that do like swansea, dont watch them, they have a swansea kit, but couldnt name 6 of the starting 11.
im just wondering who do you think is too blame for the lack of local support ? the parents, lack of advertising for local teams such as cardiff - swansea, cost, or just think they're kids, let them support who they want ?

When you're younger, you'll always have a team that wins everything and people support them. We lost a generation of fans in my opinion when we were really crap and the gap was filled by successful teams and that's been passed on from generation to generation. You'll often find a Man U or Liverpool fan has a Man U or Liverpool dad or uncle whatever. I think with us and the jacks having sides in the premier league you'll have converts, but it's just the way it is. We're not the only area with plastic mancs etc. you go anywhere in the uk and you'll see them tops. They're not real fans, they just appreciate good football I suppose and like to be associated with it. Personally, it's always been about supporting my local team and it feels brilliant seeing them rise through the leagues, a feeling these fans will never get to experience, which is sad in a way. But that's life. Where do you work? Just out of curiosity?
