Sounds like Malky has accepted the fact his tactics are not working and has finally decided to experiment with his team a little

Apparently this would be harsh on Whitts, but I'd go with this team.

We won the Championship last season and we are now outside the relegation, how exactly are his tactics not working?

We have limited possession and we're not scoring enough goals Scott.

This isn't the Championship and 6 wins in 28 league game and 0 goals in 4 away games, hoofing the ball to a very isolated 5"10 striker with no support, his tactics are not working

I've got to say that I support Malky as manager, but Turner's pointless "hoofing" of the ball to the opposing centre backs (certainly not our strikers) is extremely frustrating and only serves to give the ball back to the opposition to build up yet another attack towards our goal

What are you saying, that Campbell if selected isn't going to try & put in a good professional show?
Is he going to mope around & not try his best?

I think he's saying to all the fans building up a momentum against Malky & his tactics to hold firm & keep supporting him.
Apologies to Scott if I'm wrong.

Campbell worked his socks off against Stoke and gave them a really tough night before being substituted for reasons known only to Malky.

That's correct. He puts in an unbelievable shift in every game he plays. I don't understand what the guy meant.

I suspect Malky took off Fraizer Campbell at Stoke, with a mind on the game at Palace, the same reason which I believe he subbed him against Arsenal a few days earlier!

My only problem with him bringing Campbell off, is that he should have been replaced by Cornelius, who was desperately in need of some game time and 10 or even 15 minutes against Arsenal & Stoke, would have benefited him greatly and would have prepared him better for his 22 minute cameo against Palace, when our supporter's expectations and hopes of getting something out of the game, seemed to rest on his very young and inexperienced shoulders!

The other reason why I'd have brought on Cornelius for Campbell, is because IMO, I believe that Odemwingie gives us decent offensive options out wide, but not very much up front, as he gets caught offside too often for me!

Hmm, I think with two up top, having both Noone and Kim Bo in midfield makes us a little bit lightweight.

ok so you want to ignore the fact that his tactics worked for 46 games last season and won us the league, lets do that!

Now, were still outside the relegation zone in the Premier League which is our target, so yes were in a bad run of form but overall his tactics are working again! What were you expcting, his tactis to be working to the extent of getting us in the top four?

If we started to play more pretty, attacking football then theres nothing to say we wont start conceding more goals and losing more games. Who knows?

All I know is that since Malky has come in, his tactics have gotten us promoted and kept us out of the relegation zone so far, I think its fair to say he knows what hes doing.

Ask anyone who knows me. it was very hard to buy a season ticket for this season. The football on offer was poor and we won a poor division last season. fuckin hate all seats and red.
I'm a malky fan and thought the slog was just to get out of the championship. I have to admire the fighting quality of Malky, but even the most diehard prem lover can see that the football on show is poor.
We've been found out by everyone and have played a few cup finals against the big boys - that isn't enough to keep us up.

We play to defend but there is at least 1 player in every premier side that can turn and unlock us.
we invite attacks and our panic passing is poor on occasion.

What we need is to create and take chances should they arise.
By being so far back down the pitch, this is not possible with our set up and players.

If he wants caulker and medel centre halves and mutch as a just in front playmaker/ stopper/set piece defender
-then do it.

This can release a forward or a proper winger to get on and link up with Campbell.

come on city - this is our 1 chance, dont let it pass you by. :ayatollah:

More worrying is that it seems to be a "plan" Marshall often looks to find Turner during matches.

Totally agree. In another thread I selected the exact same midfield except I think we will be a bit open and exposed with both Noone and Kim there. So I chose to leave Noone on the bench and play Cowie instead, which probably isn't a popular choice. But Cowie gives us an engine to do the dirty side of the game, pick up the loose balls and win back possession. Plus he is very good at keeping the ball and has a quality final ball, as shown when putting the corner over against Man City, the Hull goal and Campbell's header at Palace.

At the end of the day though, the quality of football doesn't matter when you're winning games, especially when you're a newly promoted club trying to stay in the Premier League.

And Malky is getting results (generally, every team has bad runs) as proven by the fact that we're currently outside of the relegation zone. I honestly don't see what everybody's problem is!
