A forum for all things Cardiff City

...at this stage of the season? Genuine question?
Admittedly yesterday wasn't a great result for you, but the point at Stoke is more than we have managed so far, you are still around the point a game mark, pulled off some very good results so far... Baffled by some of the things I have read on here today?

It wasn't the loss, it was the manner. The gap between our lone striker and the midfield was massive, we sat so deep. Palace bypassed the midfield and we couldn't do much about it.
57% possession, but all in the wrong territory. Our centre-halfs couldn't deal with two tall strong strikers and simple direct football, so we sat too deep to cover.
Pulis knew what we were going to do and stopped us.

Scotsjack, your input is always welcome on this forum. It's not so much the result yesterday (although we should be taking a point off palace) but the total negative tactics that malky is using against teams who we should be having a go at, december is a vital month for us because there are a lot of winnable games to be played, in my opinion we need a minimum of eight points this month to make up for a potential nightmare in january, malky needs to be more adventurous with his team selection and it has to start next week against west brom.

Out of the relegation zone. Couldnt give a fuk about us finishing anywhere else in our first season, but yesterday seemed like the players were disinterested.. Like theirs been a falling out between players and malkys tactics. Im probably wrong but thats what it looked like to me. Which is worrying and if that is the case then it wont be long before we are propping up the table

Around this area of the table but I thought we would start to settle around this time time and hoped we would start to get some consultancy in our performance.

Morgreenz:I am glad you posted, because thats how I saw it yesterday, they looked jaded, and bored if thats not too strong a word?I thought the same regards a possible lack of faith in the system adopted by malky.it was strange that from 1-11 every player(exept maybe john)didnt show up? Like for like subs when chasing the game, why?I like malky a lot and until recently believed he can cut it in the prem.Unless he adapts his tactics I have less faith than I did.lets all hope he can otherwise we are in trouble.yesterdays performance was dire,we cant afford too many more like that or for sure he will be gone?Saying that this is the best roller coaster ride of them all.fingers crossed eh! CCFC.

Thought we would be mid table.
I just feel we have let yourselves down in a couple of games like Newcastle at home and yesterday at Palace. Saying that the 3 points against Man City is a bonus so perhaps its was wishful thinking on my behalf.

Thougth few places higher than now

Some fans are never happy, it's just the way they are. You can't please everyone.
You're bang on about points and games, at current rate, we should be just fine come end of season.I think we need to get over this bad result and put it right Saturday against west brom. Our home form will be the key this year I believe. I thought we'd be perhaps a bit higher, however I'm not unsatisfied with where we are. We're doing ok.

ian,as great a result the city game was iv alaways thought if kompany had been playing then you wouldnt have scored two of those goals.they had a midfielder playing c/b.shambolic defending helped you out that day.i think a shift in menatlity is also called for by the players as well as a more offensive attitude off mm.this mentality of we have lesser teams at home to come wont wash.those lesser teams need points too so they are dangerous.if the players think like some of the fans then there will be trouble ahead.you,ve proved it when the leash is loosened that you can attack teams .time to be a bit more attacking.otherwise it will be blues under mcliesh mark 2.mid to bottom i thought.ccfc are not adrift.no need to jump overboard yet.i do believe mm can do it for you.needs a bolder approach though

I expected to be around this position.
Hopefully pick up some points over the Xmas period.

Probably about where we are. It was always going to be a long, difficult season. Not having payed at this level before, it's difficult to compare sides. Can't help thinking that we are a bit naive at times. We have also underestimated some sides, like Newcastle home, and possibly yesterday. We certainly need to have a go, and to wise-up a bit. Still a bit star struck? I honestly fear for the rest of the season, if we don't get some wins soon. Other clubs at the bottom seem to be improving, while us and West Ham are getting worse.
