I want to guage opinion for a lifesaving measure :- drop Whitts and Cowie in favour of our formation at the back end of last season when we did so much better; i.e. midfield of Mutch Kim (central) and Gunnarsson, together with Medel. Whittingham is becoming a liability, its like we are handicapped by playing with only 10 men from the start when he is picked. Inciidentally, I don't buy the argument about his terrific set piece deliveries - they dont happen any more! And in any case Kim, Mutch or Medel could do equally as good. He is not Premier class and neither is Cowie. Also, when Gunnarsson's shoulder improves later in the season , his throw in deliveries will be more useful than anything Mr sleepy slow, negative Whittingham can ever do! Two up front is also a must - Cornelius and Campbell for me!

At the moment I'd probably play Odemwingie and Noone out wide but I'd love us to sign Montero in January and possibly Matt Phillips at QPR or Zaha on loan. As well as wingers we could do with a ball playing CB, a LB, someone in CM who can run past players, is comfortable on the ball and who pass accurately. Get those in and we might have a chance

But if he did im sure he will add you to his coaching staff!
Malky picks his team like he does for a reason, we might not be happy with it, but he sees them day in day out, knows what is needed, and knows whats happening with players that we dont get to see. Also Cowie is in that team for a specific reason. Next game you go to at the ground, dont follow the ball, follow Cowie, He does alot tactically off the ball. He notices when gaps are appearing from loss of shape and fills in well. Hes not there to make 40 yrd becks passes, or score goals. he keeps things ticking over and tactically is by far our best player. Reads the game brilliantly from our shape perspective.

the football did look better, but 3 in 9 is hardly earth shattering either, and actually compares poorly to the season overall, 25 wins in 46
