Alex Fernandez could be on Malky Mackay's January shopping list

Cardiff City and West Ham have made enquiries about taking Espanyol's Alex Fernandez on loan in January, according to reports on Mirror Football .

Former Real Madrid starlet Fernandez, 21, is understood to be available for the Bluebirds or the Hammers to borrow, but his Barcelona-based club want a £500,000 fee to farm him out.

The stylish central midfielder has played for Spain at every youth level from Under-17s up, and was player of the tournament at the U19s European Championship in 2011.

Fernandez's older brother Nacho has recently broken into the Real Madrid first team, but having failed to do so himself, he left the Bernabeu club by mutual consent in August.

Just assumed you were one of those fans not happy with a good young player and expecting Messi tbh.
A lot of the deals 'leaked' and came true. Will have to see what happens.

Another one for the future... We need players that can walk into the first team and change games at the moment - this is the sort of player that would be a better summer signing surely.
