Cardiff boss Mackay out to get Adam after Stoke player escaped red card during fracas
By NEIL MOXLEY

Charlie Adam may be the subject of action after a case of mistaken identity when Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay asks referees’ chief Mike Riley how the midfielder escaped dismissal at the Britannia Stadium.
Stoke City’s midfielder, who had already been booked, failed to attract further censure from match official Michael Oliver after appearing to push over Fraizer Campbell during the goalless draw.
Oliver subsequently cautioned Campbell and Stoke forward Peter Crouch following the incident and Mackay wants an explanation.

Lucky escape: Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam escaped a second yellow card despite appearing to push Cardiff striker Frazier Campbell during their goalless draw on Wednesday night

Booked: Crouch and Campbell were both shown yellow cards by referee Michael Oliver.

'If you look at cold, hard facts he should have been sent off,' said the Scot, 'we will see what happens.
'I’ve put my request into the PGMO (Professional Game and Match Officials) in terms of clearing up the issue.
'I’m not someone who is waiting on apologies from Mike Riley ever week. Referees do the best job they can. Sometimes honest mistakes happen.'

Pointing the finger: Cardiff boss Malky Mackay wants to know why referee Michael Oliver failed to show Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam a second yellow card after he appeared to push Frazier Campbell

Stoke may be caught in a Catch 22 situation if they do not report the incident themselves to the Football Association.
They can point out the alleged mistake themselves and take punishment.
Or they can risk the possibility of further action if the authorities decide there is a case to answer that the Potters have not brought to their attention.

He needs to let it go, the games gone.

Of course it would have helped us but we cant be relying on teams to have players sent off.

stupid, this kind of carry on, if they now ban him we are just helping those teams who face Stoke next not ourselves. just leave it go.

Can you say let it go just because the games gone?

It's just basically saying players can get away with anything. :?

He could have got 2 red cards and a yellow - both the push and the elbow could have been straight reds... Can't help but feel as usual that if we were a big team Stoke wouldn't have got away with that... He should be punished retroactively as it's not rugby.
