Tonight at Stoke coaches was searched from top to bottom because on one of the first coaches that arrived in the away end compound, a fan thought it was a bright idea to come off the coach drinking alcohol, that sparked a major overreaction by the Stoke police.

The police waited for everyone to get off the buses then they went aboard and searched bags, under seats, etc.

What that has done is given the Met police a heads up before Saturdays game that Cardiff fans may have alcohol on the coaches, previous trips to Selhurst Park have seen coaches searched top to bottom.

I have been warned/advised tonight that coaches will be searched from top to bottom on Saturday.

All I can do is pass the warning/advice on and hope to save some people some bother.

all because someone was drinking, i dont know the rules for travelling on coaches ect, but that sounds pathetic to me.

Correct, shops are also given strict orders not to sell any alcohol.
