Mate of mine in the Royal Marines had to buy his own kit whilst fighting for this country. Never believe the spin that Brown spouts. The Americans call the British 'The Borrowers'. A sad indictment of the finest fighting force in the world let down by our clowns in Government.

No matter who`s in charge,we`d be there.We were borrowing kit as squaddies under the Tories as well as Labour....as well as buying our own stuff.
As for Wootton Bassett,great little town,many happy nights in the Keys and the Old Nick.Was the club called Charlies,had a huge ding-dong in there.

This war is really to protect the afgahn people from the Taliban labour or not this war must have gone ahead anyway.

what most people dont realise, this war is not about afghanistan....its pakistan...

if afghanistan would be left alone, the talibans would regain power and as they have support and links to pakistan, the risk that pakistan gets overrun and taken over by those headcases is very high and what happens then?

Pakistan = nuclear weapons...
