CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL!!!
I watch the football league show and besides a handful of teams,it looks worse than last year!
Crap crowds, hardly any atmosphere and a really poor standard.I've watched city for over 40 years and would continue to do so despite what league we are in but for a lot of people I think it might be bye bye city if we went down.
The championship this year is horrendous-"could you stomach it again???

been out of the league for 4 months and already thinks we are better than the championship
ill follow the team regardless. The championship is a very competitive league and a very good one to be a part of due to that.

Now where do I state that we are better than the championship?? I'm just stating what I think of this years standard in the championship. My brother in law is a season ticket holder at forest and he tells me the football is ghastly this year and atmosphere has dropped alarmingly.I've watched city in the doldrums no matter what league!!And we are better "FACT"

I would actually quite enjoy an away trip ipswich ,nott forest blackpool again. No stress about getting tickets.
Its horrible though. at least in the premiership we only have relagation to worry about and not promotion

I'd swap all this premiership lark to go back to that day at Scunthorpe when we won the title or that leeds game in the f.a. cup-now they were special days!!
Tue Dec 03, 2013 1:00 pm
I was saying this to my mate the other day. Think I'd prefer to get back down to the Championship. Had no issues getting tickets to my 6 aways I do most seasons. Even at the big Championship games...it wasn't an issue. Now we seem to be getting more tickets and most are not getting a sniff (the one's that travel independent anyway). Hmmmm the maths don't add up.

You can keep the championship, yes the league was competitive but the football was poor.
The premier is the place to be.
Tue Dec 03, 2013 1:16 pm
I loved it in the championship. good teams decent grounds..........no problem getting away or home tickets.......it was better than the years we had in shit@ERS DITCH.
Tue Dec 03, 2013 1:39 pm
There's no comparison with the football, but it's the tickets. Havn't been to an away game yet, but even if I want to I don't think that's going 2 happen.

being in this division does take special days away. i thought that straight away......we would have a semi cup run every 10 years or so..but god i used to b excited..........Swindon away......hadnt played them in years..makes you think..how and why was i so thrilled to draw them?

Loving the Premier League but I do miss the Championship.
An unpredictable, competitive league and entertaining league.
I hope we don't go back there any time soon though
Tue Dec 03, 2013 3:05 pm
Loved the championship years (except last year) saw some nice football sometimes, better than score one and defend for the rest of the game anyway. Wouldn't bother me too much IF we got relegated. I'll still be there
Tue Dec 03, 2013 3:22 pm
My Dearest Sir Ninian,
I don't know how long you have followed Cardiff, but I grew up watching us get relegated more than we got promoted.
Yet after every relegation tens of hundreds of fans would invade the pitch to the cry of "we'll Support you evermore".
Lately we have been invading pitches in tens of thousands screaming "we are premier league"
So the only thing I can honestly say is...
Don't Care where we are!!
Don't Care where we are!!!!!!
I love watching Cardiff
Don't care where we are.
Tue Dec 03, 2013 3:33 pm
Well league 1, 2 and 3 was those days!
I don't mind the championship and especially the midweek football. But loving the premier league now
Tue Dec 03, 2013 3:47 pm
yeah done all the relegations and the 2,000 home crowds. We were a yo yo club for as long as I can remember but what gets me thinking is will our recent success come back to haunt us.we are in the top league now,but will all the glory hunters abandon ship if we fail.I bet that hospitality section will be empty again if we went back to the championship!
Tue Dec 03, 2013 5:10 pm
Could easily watch the championship as I continue to do so! If city aren't playing and a Championship game is on aswell as a prem game, I watch the championship, lots more chances and excitement. The league is tight yet open (if you get what I mean!) And I can't stand fans in the Premier League, its almost like their stuck up or better than others because they are in the Premier League. Proper fans in the football league! Down to earth and get behind their team unlike 'premier' fans who are there for the premier league.

There's a fair chance that we will be back in the Championship next season. If so, then we'll make the best of it. The PL is fine, but its not the be all and end all. This will be a long and difficult season, battling relegation. Haven't enjoyed those seasons in the past, and aren't now. Apart from a few, we have payed most PL clubs in the past decade. Not much novelty value. Personally, I enjoyed the Championship. Loads of good clubs, with a great tradition. Less tension this year. Any win is a bonus
Tue Dec 03, 2013 8:43 pm
I did like the Championship, but obviously would rather be in the Prem.
Tue Dec 03, 2013 11:15 pm
My favourite time was in the days of Toshack, Clarke, Murray, King etc. in the old div 2. Some good European nights then, and the guaranteed trophy at the end of the season with only the likes of Swansea, Hereford, Wrexham, & Newport to beat, and that was pretty much guaranteed in those days.

Rubbish! Totally disagree. The Championship is a great division, very competitive with many quality players there. Obviously the Prem is a superior league as we have found out, and yes the crowds and the media coverage is bigger. But I still watch and enjoy Championship games

Could never forget Ronnie Bird, scored twice in the first match I saw, we beat Villa 4-0 in a league game, Toshack got the other two I think.

Agree. Apart from the big 4 plus Liverpool, Spurs, Everton and Newcastle the rest of the sides we play are no different in size or stature to the majority of the clubs in the Championship.
It has been nice seeing the away section full since we been in the PL though.

Championship is a terrible league, quality is shocking. It was no difference when we were in the league, it was shocking then aswell. You could put a blackpool donkey in the league and he wouldnt be out of place.
Premiership is a much better league, even if it is a league containing 3 leagues. 20-15, 14-5, 4-1
20-15 is no difference in quality to the championship.
14-5 is premiership standard and a big difference, not euro class, IMO.
4-1 are european quality.

6-1 are european quality.
Amended for you

I'd rather we stayed up but I do miss the Tuesday night games.
Away games is catch 22, liked going away but done most championship clubs and do like a new ground. Prem I don't do enough other away games to go to the games I want to but that's fair enough.

Not much difference, although I'd argue that 5 and 6th in the prem aren't really top euro quality, they are quarter finalists teams for me

For me Liverpool and Spurs are european quality.
Maybe not european elite but certainly european standard. They have plenty of world class players.
